Does anyone know where to buy the milspec rifle lockers/cages that are in every military arms room in the country?? All I'm seeing are places that sell to agencies or military through contracts.

It looks like Sportsman's Guide used to sell them but nothing available now.

I'm always amused whenever people want something that's "built to mil-spec". There are several Mil-Specs which may be applicable, such as:

MIL-DTL-32671 (10 November 2020) "Detail Specification Stowage Systems, Small Arms, Shipboard" is one applicable Mil-Spec.

"This specification covers shipboard lockers, racks, and bins intended for use as stowage systems for small arms on U.S. Navy surface ships." It covers the following types:

Type IA - Locker, non-topside use
Type IB - Locker, topside use
Type II - Rack
Type III - Bin

I'm sure there are other Mil-Specs which might be applicable. So, what do you want? More specifically, what do you want in such a locker? You'd probably have a better chance of finding what you want based on that than just searching for Mil-Spec storage lockers.

However, you can search using "mil-spec" as a criteria.

This is close to what I was looking for; I saw this site but haven't reached out for any quote.

I was looking for the 12-gun M4 racks. I use "mil-spec" in this case just to identify what many of us have seen.

I also came across the SecureIt variety, but $1900+ shipping seems a bit steep.

They're all insanely steep for what they are - $350 cabinets with expanded sheet doors added to them. Especially considering they offer little to no security other than slowing thieves down with another minute or two of prying. I came to the same realization on pricing when searching for a short one that I could use in a closet since we don't have the room for a large safe, just as a "keep it locked away from kids" device. Ended up coming to the decision that I was better off either building something myself, or modifying a job box which has the added benefit of the locking mechanisms being completely recessed.

Take a look at used narcotics lockers.

Once again, the ever intrusive internet monitoring AIs have struck.

I just logged on and opened up YouTube and was immediately assaulted by a video ad for Secureit Gun Storage. All because I searched "mil-spec gun safes" last night for this thread.

So I present you with the following link:

Ya, that's the $1800 one I mentioned. Insane.

My original idea was to get a couple of these used military lockers and bolt them together, and then bolt to the walls, and harden the room they're in...but finding them locally is more difficult than I expected. - I really don't know the best way to go about storing all my equipment on a 2nd floor. I was going to harden the room rather than deal with a large, expensive safe...I'm also worried about weight on the floors.

My wife doesn't want a safe on the main floor and I can't say I blame her. They're an eye sore in the open. Not to mention I'd still have to find a way to store all the ammo - I honestly think the best option may be to frame out a room under the stairs as it's all dead space but I'm a little concerned about humidity as HVAC wouldn't be there.

Add a fan/vent to go into the space?

Adding air under the steps can be pretty easy, but you don’t need it if that is just your ammo storage. The structure under the stairs tends to be pretty well built.

For a gun room why not pegs on the wall? If you want, plastic dip some eye bolts so you can run cable locks. Or just a vertical wooden rack? But no idea how you harden a room in a residence for less weight than a safe.

My thought was the weight would be distributed over multiple joists rather than the footprint of the safe...but I'm not an engineer.

@IrishCannon found these on Marketplace. Any of these what you are looking for?

That last one is what I'm looking for.

I've found some deals here, but you'll have to jump through the hoops. It's an auction site, but they have some great deals, just read the fine print.
