    Some of you, like me, have actually used MARS in our former lives...long before sat phones and the like, this was a way for soldiers to "phone home". I used it in the 80s from Honduras and Panama and early 90s from a KSA shithole.

    Just saw the newly updated AR was published on 09 OCT 19 and thought I would post it here since it is approved for unrestricted public release...not sure if any of you are members or not, or interested in applying...your major hurdle may be that you must be of "good moral character...", lol.

    Nevertheless, hope you find it informative and good reference for the program.

    I was once AAR4USA.
    I played key monkey for many service members to talk with the family via Army MARS. I liked talking with the parents the best. They were so proud of thier kids.
    Many of whom came from VERY underprivileged backgrounds.
