I have a 57 no dash 4 inch. This is an “N” serial numbered gun. The complete package, NEW, with unopened tool kit, all paperwork, blue serial numbered two piece box, wood Presentation case, and also the serial numbered brown cardboard box it was all shipped in. A time capsule, in perfect shape.
Stuck away so no pics but rest assured the real deal.

Has the brown shipping box been opened?

    I kid not.

Exactly the gun I want, although I prefer to buy a shooter cause I’m gonna shoot it, so I’m not going to offer a value.

@Prosecutor will have a well informed opinion.

$1000 to $1700 possibly more. All depends on the market you are in and where you post it for sale

I'll be the first to say that large frame Smiths, and particularly .41 mags, are outside my area of expertise. That said, I know a thing or two about a thing or two, and that a genuinely NIB condition 4" with the exterior shipping box is a rare, rare thing. Hard to imagine that it would not bring north of $1,500-1,600 if posted in the right place. In my non-expert opinion, it should be worth considerably more. Honestly, I'm better at pricing a shooter grade gun.

I am not a guy who goes looking for truly NIB Smiths...but the one's I stumble into will never go up for sale. Like you said, it's a time capsule. Harder and harder to find.

I have that gun, without all the stuff... a genuine chooter that cost me $800. It was a steal. Mine should have sold for closer to $1,000. Yours is worth a Lot More. I second the $1,500 to $1,600 estimate, but it would not surprise me if it sold for a good bit more.

I love N framed .41's. Still have my 58 but my 57s and 657s are all gone.

Ya’ll may think I’m crazy, but since I’m not a buyer I’ll go ahead and say that I’d list it on the S&W forum at $2,500 and wouldn’t expect it to last 48 hours, maybe you’d get beat down to $2,000. This assumes very good pictures that support the claims about condition.

Your biggest issue will be if you are unknown, so selling locally may make more sense, in which case you should call me.
