More CCW and PP delays Wake County

Buddy of mine has an appt. January 3rd to be finger printed..... I'm keeping my opinion of lockdowns to myself.

Sheriff running his mouth again on WRAL about his staff bring exposed to CV-19 during permit process. More excuses for delaying permits.

I believe otherwise.

In reference to trying to limit the number of people coming into the office, Baker said that, "we did, I believe, not violate anyone's constitutional rights."

"It was just a step of us trying to protect our staff so we could continue to serve our county," he said.

What an illiterate fool we have sitting in the Sheriff's chair. The man struggles to utter a coherent, grammatically correct sentence. He's made Ebonics the official language of the Sheriff's department.

It's not just Wake. I have a coworker that lives in Davidson County. He and his wife took their class first Saturday in August. Called the Sheriff's office the following Monday and were told mid November was the first available appointment. I've already told him to expect it to be at least 90 days from then to get his permit. So 6-7 months from class to permit. Took him almost a month to get a PPP. Ridiculous. What's the saying, a right delayed is a right denied.

And the Davidson Sherrif is extremely pro 2A.

Wonder how counties who require appointments for CHP renewals will handle the 90 day thing when appoints are not available for say ... 90 days? You can’t use a “waiting for renewal” CHP piece of paper to purchase a pistol from an FFL. Even worse if you plan crappy on your filing for renewal and get to close to your expiration date (in fact right now mark your calendar 90 days prior to your CHP expiration to get it done!) and you slip out of the 60 grace period because you can’t get an appointment before it ends.

Side note ... appointments for CHP renewals are a joke. We fill out the form on that damn website that costs us about an extra $6 and only have to sign a couple things at their office ... 5 minutes in & out ... but I bet the liberal ones won’t take that into account when scheduling appointments ... everyone (regardless if it’s a PPP, new CHP or renewal CHP) gets a 30 minute block.

News today reports one individual at WCSO has tested CV Positive, over a dozen workers are self isolating.:(

Man, I love Alamance county. My wife just walked in, gave them her renewal paperwork, fingerprints taken then & there & gave them a check. Permit showed up a few weeks later.

Just to update the current times: Wake, renewal, expired 8/1, appointment 7/27 (the earliest possible), CCP received 9/28. 2 months sharp. Not as good as one can wish, but definitely better than I expected.

Not bad for the funky times we're currently in, I guess.

isn't there a 45 day requirement?

Yes, but let's be fair. It is and it was, yet under Donnie Harrison in took more than 90 days to get the license in 2015, even without covids and all these rush purchases. So, as I wrote, 60 days still deserve improvement, but still not that bad as it could and as it was.
