mossberg shockwave

Just something to remember technically NC issues a CHP ... Concealed Handgun Permit ... which does not included a long gun or “firearm” so a Shockwave doesn’t fall under it.

Now as to usefulness, it is a matter of opinion but used correctly and with Aguila minishells that thing could be wicked good in quite a few situations.

You can carry it in your truck what he is saying is it just can't be concealed.

And by the way those mini Aguilas are very fun.

all right i have an f150 supercrew where would you guys put the shotgun cause when i get out it`ll be in view [ not good ] - matbe make a mount in the front floor -

Shockwave's fun with high brass buckshot as well. I was actually surprised at how little it recoiled. Would be a handy little gun for SD & would be great beside the bed, with a light mounted.

Dammit, meant to just say I liked my buddy's Shockwave, but I think I've talked myself into getting one.

Lol mine fits perfect in the drive side door. LOL

Mine fits really nice between my seats. 60/4o bench.

I just stick something over it or hide it when leaving vehicle.

I also have the Remington Tac 14, prefer it to Mossberg because of familiarity with the platform.

I've added a Wilson +1 extension with a QD stud and also added a stud in the end of the Raptor grip. My light mount is the Magpul M-loc offset and the light will be a TLD-1 (which will be here Thursday) and I'll be done. My choice of carrying case is a tennis racket case which fits perfectly.

Once I get everything together I'll create a thread and show it off a little.....

BB, how did you add the +1 extension to the tube? Did you mill out the detents in the tube or flatten them out?

I have a shockwave.... sorta....

I took my new haven 600at with 18 inch barrel, removed the wood furniture, added the raptor grip and corncob slide for a home made version. It is 4 inches longer than a true shockwave, but mine is a shotgun, not a firearm.

Be sure to use the strap on the foreend.

Been eyeballing these for a while and about to buy one soon. Has anybody used the brace kit from SB Tactical? How does the brace feel with full power loads and not birdshot?

Interesting thought about adding the SB Tactical brace kit. Didn't know they made one for the Shockwave and Tac 14. Thanks for spending my money @ARM lol!

That’s what I’m here for:D. My buddy showed me the one dressed up from Mrgunsngear and it sealed the deal for me on purchasing one. It seems like an easy setup to change the various braces out. I just saw today that kygunco offers a 12ga or 20ga shockwave with a brace already installed. https://www.kygunco.com/Product/View?ItemNo=128610

Can't speak for BB but I used a dremmel(sp)tool
Pretty sure that's what I did on my 14" SBS. Grinding stone inside the tube. Or maybe I drilled it out and then ground it smooth it?

I fondled one of these at the gun show today and I liked it.

My LGS just put in an order for me.

How about an update? I'm thinking about buying one of these. Any of you guys want to weigh in with how you feel about your shockwaves and tac14s 6 months later? Are they still as much fun or are they collecting dust?

Also, have any of you guys found any finish or QC issues with the Tac 14? I am leaning toward the Remington because of familiarity with the controls. But, I have also read lots of recent complaints about Remington shotguns rusting because of poor finish from the factory. Any truth to this?

Ewww... I will be getting a wood Tac14 soon, especially if they go below $350 soon.

I'd still rather have the Tac13!

I like the wood on the Mossberg, but not the quad rail.

Now, if that spike was just a wee bit longer.....

I have one of each. The Mossberg is in the truck and the Remy is in the bedroom.

I can't say much about the longevity of the finishes yet, but I am finding out that because of the limited range of motion I have in my right wrist due to breaking my arm a few decades ago, I'm unable to shoot these like they do in the YouTube videos. I'll either have to shoot them from the hip or left handed.

I do prefer the Mossberg, though. Familiarity of controls and capacity puts it on top for me.

Will pick this up tomorrow-

Going to put a TLR-1 on it & it'll be perfect for bedside & truck gun duty.

We had a total of 6 of these scattered amongst us. Down to 1 in 20 Ga. That damn Clint Smith video made me think anybody could shoot one of these. Wellll, ya can't. If you are a tall burly midget with short arms like me, it's not doable. I wish I could but after Really trying I had to realize it won't work for me. Damn I like the concept though. I am spoiled by my 12 inch 870 with the shortened stock. I can get it far enough from my face to not injure myself.

You got any pics of your shotgun? I'd like to see how the stock was shortened.

Ahh, the "Night Stick"!

I won one of those Shockwave POS's in 12 gauge and intend to do a NFA SBS thing someday, otherwise I would have sold it. To me it's about worth the 20 bucks I spent on raffle tickets. I had been looking for some of the wood furniture for it to at least cool it up a bit and make it look old school, but decided against it because of the ridiculous cost as well as the 12 gauge firearm being marginally legal, I don't want to take a chance on changing any dimensions with an aftermarket grip.
