We need some more motorcycle love in here.

I had to get a new helmet, it was just that time again.

I went with a Schuberth C3 pro that was on sale for a couple hundred off regular price and hard to pass up. Should be here in the next few days. Woohoo

I need/want a new helmet. Both my Arai and Shoei are past 5 years old. I looked at some new Arai's and as usual, the one I like is $1,000! That's just crazy.

Revzilla had the c3 pro on sale for 489 and I got the last xl they had.

I'm not much for group rides of more than 2 or 3 guys. Riding styles vary so much. I'm not a "stop & smell the roses" type.I do go to quite a few "ride to eat" meet ups though. I'm one of those nutty long distance guys that rides a thousand miles in one day for a Moonburger! www.moonshine-run.com Go to lunch from Clt to anywhere in the NC/TN mountains or Myrtle Beach and back in the same day, I'm in. Post a destination for a ride to eat and I'll try to make that.

I'm the same. If I'm in town and have the time I'm game for just about anywhere.

We had planned a coast to coast bun burner. Instead of the scheduled 5 days it turned into 21 days, 7400+ miles, a 3 day excursion to Vegas and in 24 hours it went from 117 in the desert to 28 degrees and snowing in the Rockies. Of course the topper was having to ride through hurricane Gustav on the way back which really kinda sucked...

I think I was caught out in Gustav? I rode up to Indy for the MotoGP and a hurricane blew all the way through there. I don't remember what year it was. The wind was brutal. It felt almost as bad as going through Kansas!

It was 2008, we were starting to run into it in Kansas and the pinnacle hit us somewhere near St. Louis iirc. Didn't have a dry day for 3 days and had to stop and dump my boots out more than one time. Lol

Damn! I ain't been on a motorcycle in 40 years. And they sure didn't look like that then.

Give me about 150 miles in the Mountians is a perfect ride for me.

You going to trailer it up to get to the mountains?

Good choice. Here's mine. I love this helmet.

Dang!!! My C3 Pro cost something in the neighborhood of $1200.00 three years ago. That's a great deal you got there. I got mine from Revzilla as well.

Mostly for Harleys though.

Knock on wood... My flhx has only been on a trailer once and it was when I smoked a voltage regulator and my battery died at Ft. Hood in Killeen TX. The shop there came and picked it up, fixed her up, and we were back on the road in like an hour.

Hahahahah. 24. The thread made it to 24 posts for the Harley bashing to start. I had it pegged at 15. Wow.....

I look at it like this. Real riders don't give 2 shits what you ride, only that you ride.

So haters can hate all they want. Spending $18k and riding 18 miles doesn't make you a rider.

Sure hope I get to ride more this year...
Last year, was not a lot, but I'd get out for some solo stuff and the ocassional ride with my buds from the F'ville/Bragg area to the southern parts of that area or out to the Uwharries.
Exit 13B on US74 is a huge cloverleaf...super duper fun to ride a couple times. :)

Most certainly agree. My experience with HD motorcycles has obviously been different than others.
Ride Safe

Bikes are like Tater Chips, can't have just one. The Yellow one is my old Harley Ironhead, a 75, I've had it forever. The white one is my 98 Valkyrie, my Phat Girl. She is torn apart right now, I'm cutting and painting on her, giving her a facelift. I just made a gnarley 5" exhaust for her, give me about another month I'll have her up and running. The red one is my Fat-Boy. He's sitting out in the driveway now, I rode him around yesterday, gonna run around on him today. When the Phat-Girl gets finished, I'm gonna tear him apart for a cut and color. I work 3 nights a week, I drive almost 80 miles each way to work, on my 4 days off I park the car and either ride the bikes, or take the truck if I need to pick up stuff.

This one's going on the chopping block after I get it washed. Bought it for the wife, she put about 62 feet on it, I've ridden it for about 300 miles and got it from my cousin when she had put a little over 3500 miles on it. She hurt her back and couldn't ride anymore so I took it off her hands. Anyway 2007 1200 low if anyone is interested let me know I'll make you a pretty good deal. I want some room in my shed back. Lol

This is my current bike except it has a Rinehart exhaust system on it now.

I have been riding motorcycles for 47 years now and I'm rapidly losing interest. I was never an around town rider. I wanted to go somewhere, run out a tank of gas before stopping. Nowadays, I have too many aches, pains, and stiff joints to ride long distances. Learning that you're too old to do something that you love is a tough pill to swallow.

On the other hand, my wife still loves to ride. She never rode a bike until she met me, well, some guy in high school took her a short ride once on his bike. When I introduced her to riding, she immediately fell in love with it. She's the reason that I haven't stopped riding. She's on the back in her own little world, doesn't care where we're going. She's even gone to sleep on long trips.

She said this morning that Saturday was supposed to be really nice and she felt like she had gotten enough of her strength back to ride somewhere for lunch. If she feels up to it we may have to go to Provision Company in Southport. We like it there, great food.

My favorite bike of all time, my beater KLR650. Had 44k miles on it at the time of the crash. This pic is from it's last ride, dad and I touring up to Shasta. About 3 hours after this picture was taken dad would be crashing that brand new (~750 miles on it) Tiger 1050 into the back of my stationary KLR. Ouch.

The extra fuel on the KLR is actually for dad's bike. That IMS tank on the KLR held 6.5 gallons and I was getting 55mpg even at altitude with the carb. Seemed like the Triumph's fuel light was always on.

The replacement is a Vstrom650. Super happy with this bike, hasn't left me stranded nearly as many times as the KLR did, but it's got ABS and that's something I won't live without anymore. Only 55k on this bike, but since I changed jobs 4 years ago (and moved to NC) I don't commute on the bike every day like I used to.

I don't get to ride as much I would like, but enjoy the crap outta every single mile. I just gotta get my wind fix & blow the cobwebs out from time to time.

Been riding on the street, off & on for over 30 years. I'd been without 2 wheels for about 6 years, when I picked up this '02 Super Glide in Sept. '13. Knew before I'd even gotten it home that I could never be without a bike again. I'm gonna ride this thing till I can't hold it up. Then I'll put a side-car on 'er & start taking my dogs with me.
