Motorcycle love

It doesn't sit alot. I ride it year round.
That's what a Valk needs. My Dad bought one and rode it for around 2 years, then proceeded to let it sit for around 2 more. Cleaning and Sync'ing those carbs was the hardest motorcycle carb job I have ever attempted.
It's the one bike I wished had EFI.

keep on leaning, brother.
And find your missing front brake lol

I was surprise how comfortable she is to ride lol. But yea the rotor and caliper are among the things that need to be address.

In the next few days I am making me a set of stands and pulling the front forks to do seals and do the caliper and rotor.

There be some other stuff I need to fix but for what I paid for her I can put some money in to her

Looks lowered a bit, too? People need to be kicked in the balls for lowering and removing brakes!

Looks like you are gonna have a lot of fun. Gix750 total sportbike sweetspot. Maybe best sportbike ever, imo.

I have a bike set up for dragracing
Ive seen this sort of stuff a lot.
Squids on the street talking about 'weight savings' by getting rid of 2/3 of their brakes (one in front, one in rear)...dude, how about YOU lose some weight first before making your machine more difficult to ride.
Or these clowns that put on a 240+ rear wheel...GTFO. DME race shop in Winston has ProStreet bikes that are completely street legal in NC - headlights, tails, no wheelie bars, and no slick...they are running 220+mph in the 1/4 at about 6.6 seconds. So dont talk to me about needing that rear tire for traction.

I saw a squid in Lex yesterday. Gixxer...didnt see what size, too busy trying to get my camera up - dude was wearing a tank, boardshorts, and a helmet. He probably had on underwear. Did I forget anything? NOPE... Think about what i DIDNT mention...yeah, your boy was wearing NO SHOES.

Yeah, I can only shake my head when I see these kinds of bikes. Kinda like when I see a dude with a mullet.

The Triumph Rocket Triple looks nice too. 2.4L 3 Cylinder. A beast. Currently featured in the TV series Lucifer.

If I get a triumph it will be a Daytona lol.

I despise a cruiser or cruiser style bike. Closes I’ll get is a touring bike lol

Yea the guy I bought it from got it as his first bike and had no idea be bought someone’s drag bike. When I pull the forks and put them back on it will be at the correct height or close to it lol.

I always wanted a 750 and got one. Just need to nurse it back to health lol

Edit- another guy told me I don’t need the second rotor and caliper because is victory only had one..... told him straight up that his cruiser wasn’t designed for the track and made street legal lol and he o lot needed one.

Yea I work with a squid that have a CBR 600 with a 240 rear tire, and a 8 or 12” stretch....,

You and me both lol. But to each their own... it’s their money to do whatever lol.

drop the front forks, lower the rear, and remove a front brake = dragbike? lol
That said, Im sure its still very quick down they track, they make good power in a small package.

Yea that’s the only reason I can think they would do such a garbage thing to a bike lol. Maybe I’m getting old and it’s the new thing to do lol.

But yea mine has enough power for me for the time being and it’s faster than anything I have had to date. With hat said Ittle probably be the last super sport I’ll ever own.

I was also a KLR Rider as well. Up to about 10 yrs ago.
I had an 'o4 heavily modified for trails and backwoods camping. Though I did ride the highway there and back. We called it high speed hiking.
Sponsered a few Techdays at my place. Sometimes have 15-20 guys ride there and do anything needed to their bikes that needed done.

They called me the mule, I'd bring everything..

First ride in several years on this one tonight before the storm came in

A Kawasaki Ninja 150 wrapped in a Ninja 600 skin for the China market.
I'm guessing it is a separate and more expensive license for bikes over 150cc.

I know the licenses are graduated by engine displacement in Europe, so they have bikes at some different displacements than we get here.

Just another way to squeeze more blood from taxpayers.
My first bike was a '82 Kaw 440LTD. Second was '78 CB750. (a tank of a bike. heavy). 3rd was an '09 Buell XB12Ss. Haven't bough a 4th yet. Biggest I've ridden is a Honda VTX1800. That thing was lighter than my CB750.

Maybe. But I always figured it was a skill-based thing.
How often do we see/hear about some young kid that goes out and gets a Busa for his first bike and has an accident within a month or two?

Actually, a student told me Monday that their older brother just got a bike two weeks ago...and has already crashed.
Bikes are dangerous in the wrong hands (or when other's arent paying attention). The speed is quite incredible, I'd sort of forgotten how quick my bike is, and Ive not even taken her past 6k yet (rev limit is 10,500).

A former colleague bought his fist bike after he graduated from college. Good patents would let him until he was no longer under their roof.
His second bike was a SV1000. It was also his last bike. He was trying to keep up with more experienced riders. Hit a bit of gravel near the edge of the road. Tires slid and dug in when they meet the soft shoulder. He got high side sling shot into a tree.
He lingered for 6 weeks in the hospital. He was 23 when he died.
I have always been a cautious rider. Wide chicken strips.
I love twisted roads but i never even tried knee dragging.

Same here. I tell people I ride like an old fat guy, even on the Tail of the Dragon where I think the speed limit is 25 mph.

.

It's not just young guys. Don't forget the RUB's that have never even ridden a minibike and go out and buy a full dresser!

Young new riders on sportbikes and middle aged men on cruisers are the two segments who are most at risk of injury riding.

Young/sportbikes for obvious reasons, and older guys that finally get enough money for the HD dream and have little experience.

Not really any "slow" bikes. Even an 800lb Streetglide will out accelerate most cars by a fair margin.

I guess I am pretty safe then since I am a new middle aged rider on an old sport bike (05 FZ6) :)

Seriously, I started with the BRC, and I am taking it very easy and avoiding interstates, bad weather, and rush hour traffic for the foreseeable future.

Interstates are the safest roads you can ride on. Everyone is going the same direction (hopefully) and separated from oncoming traffic with a median. Use proper lane positioning, try to stay in the "gaps" away from everyone and you'll be fine. I've found in my 45 years of riding that staying ahead of the "pack" and as far away from big rigs as possible is the safest bet on the interstate. I also believe that going just a bit faster than the traffic flow will keep you alive and out of the danger zone of the packs that tend to form.
Always watch for the left turning vehicles. They are the ones that will really get you. Bottom line, ride like everyone out there is trying to kill you. Have fun.

I've been riding on the street off & on for 34 years. Some lessons I've learned, most the hard way- 1) if you ride above yer skill level, you will get bit, 2) ride like everyone on the road is out to kill you, because they are & 3) get some training. If yer a noob, take the BRC. If yer not a noob, take the ERC & unlearn a bunch of bad habits you didn't know you had. In addition to the ERC, I've also taken an advanced riding course in Germany & there is a company here local that offers advanced training that I'd like to look into. Not preaching, but what you don't know will get you killed.

Id love to show my 1125R some more love, but looking like rain for the next week.
Bummer.

I saw a lot of bikes and trailers heading south on 601 today. Pretty sorry weather forecast for bike week.
