Hey all,

I was curious if any members here do mounted shooting?

Would like to know more about the sport locally(central NC).

Any and all experiences are welcome to be shared in this thread!

Thanks!

That’s what I was finding out. There is not a big community in NC it seems! Would be fun to try it out. Been into the wheel guns and lever action lately.

I’m sure it was strange! That makes sense on the shot shell type round. Was it your own horse?

I made a correction to the thread title 😂

I suppose it’s not super clear! Pretty funny though!

My wife used to participate in Cowboy Mounted Shooting about ten years back. At that time, there were two groups hosting it in NC. One was based out of the Triad as I recall, and the other out of Raleigh. She shot off of her mustang Miles.

Double L Bar shooters out of Franklinton is listed as an NC based CMSA org.

The shells are provided by the event organizers. Basically they are .45 long colt blanks with sawdust in them for the projectile. The pistols are typically single action army's. Cimmaron has some nice models to choose from.

It's pretty cool to watch someone that is really good. One of the best is Kenda Lenseigne. This lady is hell on wheels.
