Movies That Make You Cry

First read where the red fern grows in grade school. And it's still to this day one of my all time favorite stories. The movie is good to. I read the book atleast once a year. It should definitely be on a must read list for anyone who hasn't ever read it.
Was 1999, 5th grade in Mrs. Ennis class.

Doesn't take much nowadays it seems 😅, granted dogs and what not almost never do it, but I'm a suckered for a good story.

Les Mis had me bawling by the end of it just the other night.
Les Mis is a tear jerker for the same reason the movie taps is. Imo.

People doing the right thing and dying for it.

Big Fish.

The ending where everyone from his stories is waiting for him down by the river.

This movie really resonates with me. I’m kind of like Edward Bloom, always telling stories to my son when he was growing up, with a little embellishment added in. I loved this movie so much that I found myself in Alabama for work one time and made a detour out of my way to Montgomery. There, the fake town of Specter still stands, left there as a park. Most of the houses are still standing but Jenny’s house was razed since it became unstable over the years. You can visit Specter and spend some time with the new citizens who’ve taken over the town.

If you’re a fan of the movie, and ever find yourself near Montgomery, I highly recommend taking a trip there.

"Tell me I was a good man." Saving Private Ryan.
An earlier poster mentioned it but this exact line always gets me.

Also Band of Brothers during the actual interviews of the real soldiers...when the soldier (I can't recall which one) says "on a cold night...I tell my wife...'at least I'm not in Bastogne'..." I lose it right there. Every time. 😭😢

As said many times upstream. Anything with a dog dying.

A River Runs Through it

Last Flag Flying (starring Steve Carell,
Bryan Cranston, and Laurence Fishburne)

There are several scenes that will make you reach for a handkerchief, but the last scene where Doc is reading his son’s letter will…. Well let’s just say have a couple of hankies ready. Description below and IMHO one of the most under rated movies of all times.

Thirty years after serving together in the Vietnam War, Larry "Doc" Shepherd, Sal Nealon and the Rev. Richard Mueller reunite for a different type of mission: to bury Doc's son, a young Marine killed in Iraq. Forgoing burial at Arlington National Cemetery, Doc and his old buddies take the casket on a bittersweet trip up the coast to New Hampshire. Along the way, the three men find themselves reminiscing and coming to terms with the shared memories of a war that continues to shape their lives.

It’s a Wonderful Life
Makes me realize that putting others needs ahead of my own will always be repaid. Also reminds me that I have friends that will step up if needed, but don’t always remember that.

A Dogs Purpose
A Dogs Journey
A Dogs Way Home
Love my dogs more than I love people at times…..

For me, it is the very end of Saving Private Ryan.

When he's asking his wife if he's been a good man, and "earned" his life as Capt. Miller's last words were to him.

That one gets me, but I'm a big softie.
