Multitool EDC

Seems high, but maybe because it's not as common?
Hell, you can get a regular Skele for 20 bucks NEW (I have bought several at that price at HD, have receipts for proof), so I'd have a hard time paying 4x as much for a small piece of carbon fiber. But that's just me. I think I was arond 40 or so for my CX

Here's my new EDC tool. It's a Leatherman Fuse customized by @premise. He took out the knife blade and scissors and added an awl, file, and saw blade. Makes it perfect for my needs. The knife and scissors weren't needed because I have a Style CS or a Squirt PS4 on me all the time anyway to go along with my carry knife. He did a great job!!!

nice looking tool!

There’s a Gerber Shard on my truck keys, a SOG Crossgrip on my work keys, and a Gerber Suspension in my truck all the time.

Nice, now get some Leatherman in your life!

Bumping this thread with questions on current Leatherman models. Anyone have any feedback on either the Surge, or the Charge+ TTi?

Since my March 1, 2018 post, Ive probably added a dozen multitools, almost all leatherman.
Got rid of some knockoffs and some small Victorinox
And carrying hasnt changed.
Most days is a CX (carbon fiber) skeletool, a wingman, a wave, or a signal.

I have a Surge, never carry it, it's a big MT, but do have one. Used it around the house before. My first one was bad out of the box and LM swapped it out no issues (though it took a while, I waited till I was out in Portland, but the trade process was "Hey, this is catching on the plier head when closing" they looked at it for a few seconds and went and got me a new one. Used the new one some.
Charge is one of the few I dont have, with the exception of the new ones theyve released in the past 18 months

I still carry the old Schrade I bought in '98. I bought a blackti-cool SOG to replace it, but the old one is just a better tool -- it ain't pretty, but it does the job every time.

The Surge is a beast. At that size, I prefer the regular ST300. I ended up passing along all of my modded Surges, but still keep an ST300 in my Total Station box at work. I was not a fan of the scissors. The file/saw/TShank holder is a neat trick, but was not terribly useful for my purposes.

The Charge plus is nice, pretty much a bougie Wave. I have a pile of the 154CM and S30V blades and put a lot of them into Waves over the years and never really noticed any real performance difference from the standard 420HC blades.

I started my LM life with a ST200, but I converted away from the ST and many others with tools like the Wave/Surge/Wingman etc that have outward opening tools.

Your post was excellent and really summed up my thoughts throughout the years better than I could have this morning

I have used a super tool 200 for 20 years. I got it when I was 17 from a girlfriend.

Old school Gerber EZ out multi tool has ridden in my range bag and spares in my truck for years.

Recently acquired a few leatherman Waves ones are much nicer to use and way more refined.

All of mine are still in factory configuration but some of the Mods out there look great

I’ve had a super tool of each generation since they were released. Haven’t found anything to beat one for what I need.

I keep a LM Wingman in my truck all the time. I have a few other knockoff brands that I have received as gifts here and there that I keep in various bags, but the Wingman quality has them all beat. I have been looking at one of the smaller keychain options so appreciate this thread and the input.
