We've cleaned up and clarified the rules for the Classified/BST sections. Please read before posting or answering a BST ad.

The significant changes are in the requirement for Price, Trade or Trade Value and clarifying what constitutes a "deal".

Awesome

Will there be any clarification at some point as to what constitutes a “new gun”?
New, like new, NIB, NWT, NWOT... etc.
If a gun has had a 4473 filled out on it, it isn’t new anymore, correct?

Speaking just for me as staff has not discussed this at all, there's no way we could possibly arrive at consensus on those definitions. So, it's up to the buyer and seller to work out those details before settling on a deal.

Thanks, @Tim !
I've revised my two active classifieds. I think they pass muster but I welcome any review comments.

Great example...the post you deleted answering the "do any mags come with it"? Is a good example of answering a relevant question in the ad. It answers a question that more potential buyers are likely to ask. I UNdeleted it.

Pretty soon you're going to need legal staff to parse the distinctions, but I hope not.

You get Roy Cooper to help you wit all dem rules? I would like to think some grown-ass men could figure out how to buy and sell without supervision...
Common sense isn’t so common. The rules have always been in place. Due to a lot of new members from other places and some bickering between grown ass men, staff decided they needed a little revising.

Jus givin' ya a poke in the ribs - but you gotta admit there's some irony in all dem rules for a forum that professes to value freedom. The admins do a great - I mean it, great - job, but I fail to see how it is the forum's problem if punters can't work out their own transactions.

'cause those punters come crying to us screaming about their feelz gettin' hurt and we need to deal with them.

Now if there was just a way to force people to update to SPF and then Sold. 😡

I’m tracking with the new rules. Thanks to the staff for the hard work.

Freedom isn’t the same as anarchy. Anarchy is the absence of all rules and every man for his self.

This forum stands firmly behind the concept of freedom. Freedom under the rule of law. The way it was meant to be under our founding fathers.

Rules do not prevent people from doing wrong. They quite simply give a means to punish people who do harm to others through their own actions or inaction.

Our rule set is neither cumbersome nor does it try to socially engineer our group or try to legislate morality. It legislates the commerce of the site to protect both sides of a transaction.

Anarchy is the absence of all rules and every man for his self.
Minor - but important - quibble: anarchy is "without rulers", not necessarily without rules. And as such, it's about as common as a unicorn. 😀
