I've had an ACOG sitting quietly in the safe for... long enough that the tritium is dead. I contacted them to see about pricing to replace it and they told me to send it in. If it's below their threshold for brightness and in the warranty period they'll just swap it out. If not, it's $188 to do it. I honestly can't remember how old it is, could be 10 years could be more.

Anyway, UPS says it arrived and I got email from them saying it was logged into the service department. Now we wait.

Even if it's $188 to get it fixed, I think it will be easier to sell and net me more for a 100% functional ACOG than one that "just needs the tritium replaced".

I'll update the thread when they get back to me in 2-4 weeks.

Don't be surprised if they just replace it, regardless of whether it is technically covered. They're actually pretty famous for that. I sent in a Reflex II that the tritium was darn near dead in and was probably 15 years old, and I bought used. I got it back with tritium and fiber optics replaced at no charge.

I'll buy your AGOG for $200 and come pick it up. You make $12 and save some time! I am here for ya!

They fixed mine twice! The last time they talked about replacing it but in the end, the fixed it. I'm kinda glad as it's the one I last carried in Afghanistan and I like it.

Yeah their customer service (on top of their tough as nails quality optics) is one reason I'm such a fanboy. I have three Reflexes, an ACOG and three RMRs.

They also do a PM on it ... replace o-rings and such. It won’t be 100% new but it will function 100% when it comes back.

I sent one in for a problem unrelated to the tritium, but I think they replaced the tritium anyway and no charge. Just shot it for the first time a week ago and LOVE it, clarity is outstanding. Let me know which one you have, I might be willing to acquire another.

So they emailed me. It's from 2011 (the optic, not the email) and it's glowing within spec so it's on my dime if I want it refreshed.

How much to have new tritium put in?

Piece of junk.
They sure do suck.
So how much were you thinking?

I just sent in a .308 ACOG for repair....well adjustment. They will do a replacement of reticle for about $600 to convert for a pistol.....heheheh. I got a good deal on the unit as it was kinda beat so not really saving any money but she will be fresh. Mine is 06 and the tritium tested fine....go figure.
