Didn't see anything up so far so decided while im at work to do a small writeup on my experience with buying and using a set of Jerry-31s from Custom Night vision formerly Kosher Surplus.
Some backstory, my intro to night vision was a set of Nocturn Industries 5-31s, that i then replaced with a gen3 contract 14, a PVS-7D and then later in life dual WP 14's(Also NNVT Tubes from Superior Tactical)
As of this writing i have roughly 50-ish hours on the Jerrys and for what i use them for they are the best ive used. The tubes are around Omni V spec with consideration to SNR(22) and Resolution(64), the tubes are chinese
and lack the clarity of the modern Nato units such as gen3 contract Omni VII/VIII tubes.
There are a ton of video reviews and comparisons so i wont get into it but i will say the flood light on the Jerrys is phenomenal, and can easily be used in heavily wooded areas to navigate. Without supplemental IR it would be hard to take shots passed 100 yards and the unit itself is very light.it does use proprietary lenses so your common filters and covers wont work.
When i ordered my unit from Custom Night Vision i placed my order around 3PM and had the unit on my porch the next day by afternoon. after tax and shipping my order came out to around 4k flat. The customer service was very helpful and even gave me coopin code for i think 150 off which offset the tax for the unit as well. Everything came packaged well and ready to go right out the box.
For backyard plinking and navigating to the deer stand i think its a perfect fit, and i dont have any of the eye strain i had when i was running an individual 14 and none of the weight and fatigue i felt with my bridged 14s.
