So, I happened into the new Ruger Mini 14 stainless side folder.
See A-Team style......

The store owner told me that he bought enough Ruger products to get two of these, and the one I put on hold was the first of them. And, thankfully, I got a much better price than the listed MSRP.
But anyway, my dreams of an A-Team style Mini 14 have come true.

Very cool rifle and the folding stock is a plus! I have the target version with the thumb hole stock and harmonic stabilizer on it. Haven’t got to shoot it as much as I’d like but it’s one of my favorite rifles. Can’t wait to actually work up a load that shoots well through it. Gonna be fun for sure. Hope you enjoy your new toy. Let us know how you like it and how it does! Be safe out there.

Awesome. I didn't realize they were making the GB style again ("TB"?). These are actually much nicer than what the A-Team used.

Very nice! I'm a big Mini 14 fan. I recommend you do the gas bushing swap to lessen the bolt velocity and related extreme case ejection.

like the Mini-14...but... .. .. $1,800+ w..o..w looks great.
have a few, very early SS one, and a early blue one, don't
know the series off hand but think less than $250 each, no
more than $300, you wanna make me get them out.

enjoy it, a mini version of the M1A, cheaper to shoot to.

I've never heard of this.........

My curiosity is piqued.....

If you have one of the side eject Mini 14s, you can buy a kit of gas bushings to restrict the gas port flow and slow down the bolt velocity and ejection distance. I got my cases to land 7 ft away compared to over 20 ft from the wide open factory bushing by installing the .040 bushing. I believe the factory bushing is .060 . the slower bolt will be easier on your scope if you have one on it.

I'm definitely giving this a look.....

Thanks for the information.

MAN! I had forgotten about it, but the only time in my almost 50 years of shooting I have ever been "blooded" by an ejected case was abut 20 years ago, I was on a private range watching a friend shoot his Mini14. I was at least 15 feet away and behind the muzzle as I needed to be. THE FIRST ROUND he fired ejected and I watched it coming at me rotating in the air. I can't say I wouldn't have had time to move-I just don't think I perceived it as being a danger. I was on the range almost weekly from 2003 - 2018, and I never thought it would be an issue. It hit me almost dead center in the forehead and the case mouth left a nice semi-circle shaped cut, just deep enough to bleed.

My cousin bought one of these in the early 1980s. I had never been around .223 rifles and thought it wouldn't be "loud". LOL. I recall that unGODly muzzzle blast / report the first few times he fired it. 😆

I had a ranch rifle back in the late 80s. Another one I regret letting go.

With current prices though, I don't see ever getting another one

Just a heads-up for something this rifle taught me today.
Mini-14s with the fixed ejector require the bolt hold open / ejector to be removed prior to trying to reinstall the bolt..........

I just gotta learn the hard way....

Good thing it is easy to remove the ejector. The bolt probably only needs to come out once a year anyway. The bolt face and locking recesses can easily be cleaned with it open and in the action.

Don’t bother. Horribly overgassed and action is loud anyway. Can tune down the gas with accuracy systems parts, but seriously the juice is not worth the squeeze.
Makes sense I suppose. If they were even $700 I would be tempted but damn that’s just a lot of money to do the same thing an AR does. That’s DD or BCM territory

Cost aside, I really like the pre-ranch rifle version that has the ejector built into the bolt face ala M1 Carbine. The cases eject forward about 5 feet or so, no sending ejected cases into orbit like the ranch rifle does. I've got to say that my 584 series is every bit as accurate as my Colt carbine.

Unfortunately for those living behind enemy lines, the Mini 14 is frequently the only non-neutered detachable box rifle available.

I’ve always wanted a Ruger AC-556 in stainless, but this would do!!!!

There is also a short barrel version that is equally awesome.
