I made some hot sauce to bring to China with me. (more at home too)
Ingredients are simple.
12 ounces Vinegar
table spoon salt
3 jalapenos, just because they were there. (next batch will delete this)
12 scorcher ghost peppers
12 Carolina Reaper peppers
Seeds and all. Used my Vitamix to pulverize everything.
The one bottle I brought won;t make it to the halfway point because I am willing to share.
Brought it to the weekend boondoggle and it had some people in tears. :D;)

I am going to make some more when I get home.
I have dubbed it "Death To Taste Buds Hot Sauce."
I do believe it is hotter than the commercially available hot sauces that don't have extract to cheat up the heat.
If I can make enough, I might be able to share some for a few brave souls on here. :D

Like the time I gave away the bottle if Dave's Insanity sauce. Watched a guy put a little on the tip of his finger and taste it. A few seconds later, his eyes went wide, his face turned red and he grabbed some paper towels and kept spitting into them while chanting "Jesus Christ". I guess a half an hour later he had to jet to the John.

Honestly, I don't know how you folks who eat this sort of thing can even talk about a sense of taste afterwards. All I can imagine subsequently is a passivated, non-stick palate (not to mention aneurysms).

I bought some red chili peppers at a local stand for my parrot: so I used a knife to cut them up for her, rinsed the knife sort of casually (bad move), used the knife a few minutes later to cut some cheese for a sandwich for me ... bit into the sandwich and had to make a quick grab for the water glass. Seriously, just that little bit was enough not only to "burn" but gave a bit of that light-headed euphoric feeling that I gather folks enjoy from the real thing. Sheesh.

Anyway, I'll freely concede to being a lightweight. And, I actually use this as a metaphor when teaching about such properties as heat capacities (materials respond differently insofar as a temperature response to a given amount of energy transferred as heat, C = dq/dT). There's always a few students who are hot pepper fans.

For me, the 'next level' peppers don't fry my taste buds so much- it's more of a face paralyzing, clearing my sinuses so fast my ears pop heat on the back end thing. I've got some pickled Reapers that are mind blowing. A tiny sliver will take your breath away, but as soon as the feeling returns to my face, I'm back for another taste. 'Course I'm also the kinda guy that believes proper guacamole is made with habaneros.

An old Army buddy has a hookup for the exotics & is bringing me some Ghosts, Scorpions & Reapers, along with some venison to make jerky with. This year's marinade ought to be off the chain. My normal marinade's got an incredible, lingering back end heat, but I want a little more upfront bite as well.

No way but Thank you, Lightweight here. When I was cooking up north we had a guy come in and told the waitress to tell the cooks that he was saying bad things about our mothers and wanted us to create the hottest wings we could make. The guy cried the whole time he ate those things and loved every minute of it. Sick bastard for sure..

I'm not down for heat with no flavor. That's just dumb, but if it's got the flavor going on, show me what you got. Plus, the endorphin rush from the exotics is intense.

Gotta be careful workin' with 'em, tho. Gloves are a must & goggles are probably a good idea. Mask, too. Rinsed the pot out after cookin' up last year's jerky marinade & the steam/mist off the pot made my eyes water. Even wearin' gloves, be sure to wash yer hands good 'fore you got touchin' yerself anywhere :D

I've tried Buffalo Wild Wind Blazin. It is not that hot. Zaxbies hottest wings are hotter.
I tend avoid the hot sauces with extracts. I prefer hot pepper flavor.
I'm not crazy enough to put a whole reaper in my mouth. But I will put a whole reaper in my eggs.

Exactly. My wife double gloves, turns the exhaust fan on and opens the windows. She is the one stuck with the freezer prep duty because I always seem to be in China for most of the harvest.

I'd love to try it as well. Big fan of spicy foods.

If you eat a lot of spicy food then you get a bit of a tolerance that will allow you to taste the flavors. I grew up eating it, but my wife didn't until we started dating me. After several years she not only could ramp it up, but she could finally hang with me. Bdubs blazing doesn't taste good so you aren't missing anything. Mango habanero sauce, however... feel bad for you if you can't taste that one.

Sounds like it's hot and all but does it taste good? Never understood the sauces that are just hot for the sake of being hot

I feel the same way.

Doubt you can find it local but order yourself a bottle of the hot. Decent kick and great flavor.

This is one of my fave for off the shelf. Good heat and amazing flavor without being hot just for the sake of being hot. I like my food taste enhanced so blasting my taste buds to numbness doesn't work for me.

And Heaven help you if you don't wash your hands well enough before putting in your contacts. They don't gonna be easy to take out, either, with your eyes rebelling against opening ever again.

You folks are sure making me want to try this out (NOT!) :p

Exactly. There was a time when one habanero in my eggs was hot enough. Now I can tolerate reapers in my eggs.
I saw a couple peppers on the hot list that I want to try.

I like their stuff a lot.

An Indian girl I work with went to Mexico & brought me back some hot sauce that her cousin loves. Made with fermented peppers & OMG good.
