for what you to tell me what's wrong and to just slap on a (insert part here).
Dear lord I am so sick of hearing this.
If its not that hard then you do it, buy a decent scanner or laptop, purchase the software, learn how to use it, hook up and read the code, get a book learn what the code means, spend years going to school and working to get the knowledge of what the code means and then fix it.
Techs spend anywhere from 10000.00 to 25,000.00 on tools and boxs withing there first 10 years on the job.
You cant get started in the industry with out spending somewhere around 4000.00 on quality tools and then you need a box. Even a cheap general set it a few hundred dollars.

And your point is??

A shop owner must pay equal SSI payments. Rent or mortgage. Injury insurance. Facility insurance. Tool payments for lifts and shop equipment. Environmental expenses. Heating and if you are very lucky A/C expense. Advertising to get work in the shop. The service writer that communicates between the customer and technician. The service manager that supervises the whole deal. Then there may be a parts department at an upper line independent shop and for sure at brand dealership.

Sure it is expensive to get your car worked on at a commercial shop. Do you work for your hourly wage and think that is all that goes into the overall business????

Maybe just maybe you can get great service from a fellow behind his/her home. I know. I was one of those guys. The facts are that these days your wife will come into a dealership or publicized independent shop for service or repair.

Would you want an youtuber to throw his newly internet found knowledge to you when you show up to do your job/career/ educated profession?

I can't, so I have a guy who can! LoL.

Back in the day when I drove old 70s cars, I could, and I did.
Now I look under the hood and I see a few things that look familiar, but not a whole lot, so I just leave it to the guys who know how to fix it! Yay. I'm happy that you guys know how.

Apparently you did not pick up on my tone

Apparently I just reinforced your comment. It is tough out there. Not trying to make it tougher.
