glad to have you here. What is your duty station/rate?

I'm a hospital corpsman petty officer first class. Currently statoned at Ft Sam Houston, TX and I just spent the last 12yrs stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. Funny thing last, I will probably retire at 20yrs and have ndvwr been stationed on a Navy base.

Granted I was a reservist, but I did spend ~8 years without ever boarding a ship.

The Stennis....way cool. I was in Norfolk from 93-95 and would see her every time I crossed the bridge lol. Yorktown did a homeport shift in 95 and went down to Pascagoula, MS

If I remember correctly, the Clay was out of Kings Bay and Charleston. My XO on the Calhoun did a tour on the Narwhal, neat power plant and cool stories. Where did you do prototype?

I actually put that on my dream sheet. Obviously didn't get it, but asking for a carrier out of Norfolk got me shore duty at an aux landing field for a Radar install that finally showed up 2 weeks before I left the place after 2 years.

The Clay refit out of Holy Loch, Scotland. Home port was Charleston.

I went to the S1C prototype. I graduated from Power School with the Class of 8702, but went on baby hold right afterwards. Ended up going to prototype with 8705.

I'm retired Army but I worked for the Seebees in Afghanistan. Got a couple nice coins and a NavComMdl. I was the only Army guy in my unit to receive a Navy award. Worked for NCR 2, NCR 22 and NCR 3.

It was way different back in the late 70's there. Had a great time.

then graduated GWU PA program in 1975 with ~15 of the original Navy PAs as my classmates

I met one of the "Original 4" Navy corpsmen who went through Duke's first PA program in 1965. Talk about a plankowner.

I wonder if they have any nuclear submarines that need maintenance or upgrades at NAS Key West. I'm pretty good at that. Chief can take the backshift.

I remember the early days of AOCS when we had freshly shaven heads and we'd be doing something stupid like leg lifts in the mud and NACCS guys would be running in formation past us chanting "fresh meat! fresh meat!".
