NC 2nd Amendment Sanctuary Counties - map/updates

Burke is holding their official vote at the 2/18 BOC meeting.
Yes, we are. There was a preliminary meeting last night. The commissioners are all on board. Now, we just have to show up in numbers, and the numbers have to be larger than the opposition. I don't think the opposition will hinder the adoption, as, like I said, ALL COMMISSIONERS have already given the nod!

Criswell predicts epic fail.
Me too. Wish I had the means to move the heck out of here. Won't make any difference how many of us show up, but we'll try. Finding a place to park on a normal day is a bitch, when it rains it's almost impossible downtown.

I have it on good faith from a lifelong friend who is pretty close to Sheriff Wright that although he is a democrat, he IS very pro-constitution. With a democrat majority in the county commission and city council, I’m understanding that he will uphold the CONUS, but probably won’t entertain a “sanctuary” ruling, which won’t pass anyway. I think he’d rather let sleeping dogs lie and not stir the pot.

Sooooo......I don’t know....
Still looking for land in the edge of Sampson or Bladen....

You should post this up in the Cumberland thread! You seem to have an inside scoop

A very pro-constitution FUDD is what he is...Wright was handpicked by Moose as his replacement because he had the same beliefs as Moose; during Wrights campaign he was on our local 640 am talk radio with "Goldie in the morning" and said that he was in favor of all firearms being registered, so when his deputy's rolled up to a house they would know what firearms were inside and the background of the individuals living there...and further, he wanted to be able to inspect the firearms and where they were stored to ensure they were properly secured, and as an Army vet ,he knows first hand that civilians do not need "military type" weapons, leave those to the professionals.
What a crock of churning dung he spouted that morning. He was on the air with the department legal rep who chimed in that these were the sheriffs opinions and not official county views or even proposed policy...and I thought to myself then, well hell he is the acting Sherriff now and every word out of his mouth is official.

He is elected sheriff now. Since 2018 when elections were held. Am I the only person who knows this? I guess this is why Charlie Baxter didn't get elected as sheriff....

I remember the interview. @1911gobang started a thread about it here IIRC before the election kicked off.

For clarity...I stated in the post "during Wrights campaign", which is while he was interim Sherriff. On the same side here.

Looks like they passed the first resolution. Never seen so much chaos.

Appears Commissioner McDaniel is pissed because the watered-down option (#2) didn’t pass; she pulled a Pelosi...she tore her ballot in half.

She is a member of Moms Demand Action and voiced the fact that she lost her 22 year old son to gun violence in 2011.

What she failed to mention was that her son was an accomplice in the robbery of a convenience store in Winston-Salem, was being chased by police and was shot dead by his partner-in-crime, before said partner-in-crime turned the gun on himself.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. —

Two men who were suspects in a robbery at the EZ Pass Convenience Store on Akron Drive Sunday afternoon died in a murder/suicide as officers closed in, Winston-Salem police said.

Police said Stephon Lavell Royster, 22, and Trayvon Donell McDaniel, 22, robbed the store armed with handguns at about 12:40 p.m.

They were seen leaving in a dark-colored SUV, police said, which officers spotted at about 1:30 p.m. off Old Rural Hall Road.

Before officers stopped the vehicle, Royster and McDaniel pulled into a driveway, jumped from the vehicle and ran away, police said.

Police said they set up a perimeter around the area, and the two were soon seen in a field off Old Rural Hall and Cox Boulevard.

As officers were approaching the two at about 2:20 p.m., two gunshots were heard, police said.

McDaniel was pronounced dead at the scene, police said, and Royster was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, where he later died.

Police said the gun used in the killings was found next to the men. Police didn't say which man pulled the trigger.

Police said evidence from the EZ Pass robbery was also found at the shooting scene.

Police said no officer fired a weapon and the suspects didn't fire at any officers.

Both suspects had outstanding warrants for robberies in both Forsyth and Guilford counties.

The Forsyth County voting process appears to be an absolute Charlie Fox.
I listened up to where they read the 2nd proposal and prior to vote while driving. Sounded like a CF to me as well.

Anyone got word on Brunswick county? I can't show up but can make some phone calls.

CD
Bro, get a live satcom feed to the town hall...have a few hogtied terrorists in the background. Big American flag. Have a raging boner too with large breasted woman in one arm, and belt fed M60 in the other. Be the patriotic face of America...or at least Brunswick Co NC.

nicely done. The best investigative journalism I ever read came from some dude on an Internet forum of a relatively nondescript thread on a specialty forum. Ahhh what a time to be alive :D

Carteret county is taking up the request on the 17th. Sheriff responded to our petition. He basically said he would support the commissioners decision if they passed it. Kind of vague IMO. But it looks promising.
