Sent an updated map to Meck.

Never got a reply back from the Sheriff after my last response. :D
 
Wilson County passed a resolution it was 5-2 last night

I heard rumblings at their May 4th meeting the Bash County Commissioners are going to read and discuss a 2A sanctuary resolution. One commissioner said now that they have gotten past some jail issues that were plaguing them, they could add it to the calendar.

Well there's sanctuary cities against ICE that seem to be pretty effective in keeping criminals safe back on the street. Interesting case being made for state's rights again by the most unlikely left wing advocates. Hope they take it all the way.
 
So, the county commissioners meeting went well. We didn’t get the resolution passed today, but we did get a committee formed that will discuss and debate the resolution (probably amend it in some way) and it will he brought up before the board again in August.

This was a significant victory for moving forward. This resolution is very strongly worded (the strongest in the state) and on the issue modifying the language of the state constitution, we gained an ally in Commissioner Outlaw.

We have a great opportunity to win a great victory for the People!

@wsfiredude and @pee wee have done an awesome job keeping us all informed with updates in this thread as they came in. Their efforts have been helpful to others on here in knowing where to stir the waters and keep things in motion.

I see Durham has not taken any action. Any news on if they have plans to, or stated any intent either way?

Durham? What have you been smoking? There is no way in hell the great leadership in Durham will allow that to happen ... they want to keep Durham safe from gun violence the same as Mecklenburg, Orange, Wake, Buncombe, Watauga and a few other “smart” counties.

Small steps are still progress. Like other said about 10 counties in the state will NEVER even discuss it.

As you've read upstream in this thread you'll need some numbers to join with you and wear them down in public and private venues. It may not work in some counties but there are success stories in this thread proving that it has worked in some others.

Enlist if possible a Smart lawyer to Help you organize. Also some “politically” connected folks help to.
