I did a little road trip in NC yesterday for business.
Here’s the report
Timberlake to Burlington, - nothing interesting… except the stupid guy in a KIA that insisted on tailgating when I was doing 10 mph over the speed limit. I even slowed so he could go by me when there was a stretch of road where he could pass and he didn’t. He probably liked the old school NASCAR and SIG stickers on the back window.

Burlington to Greensboro- nothing interesting except for a few idiots on 85-40 — really liked the guy that moved from the far left lane at the last second to take an exit. Impressive move that screwed everyone else up. Might have been a NYer.
Greensboro to N Wilkesboro - wow those mountains are beautiful and I saw the speedway - Whoppie!
N Wilkesboro to Hickory - damn that road was fantastic… I wish I still had my Alfa Romeo… also saw their speedway -

I’m trying to be nice to the NC guys, but I can say the MA and NY have the majority of idiot drivers.
We can add CA to the list.. and RI… and NJ…and .. screw it, they all have idiot drivers.. some states just have more idiots.

Being a native NYer, I'd have to say a move like that was more than likely a New Jerseyite.

Although, I spend a fair amount of time driving in Virginia and they'll give anyone from NJ a run for their money.

As some have speculated, I can confirm this is known as the “Jersey slide”.
