I'm looking for a partner for a mid-distance team match on Jan 25th in Chesterfield, SC.

The last match had max distance just shy of 500 yards. The next match could go +/- that distance. Anything from a .223 AR --> sub-magnum bolt gun is appropriate. I shot a 6.5CM bolt gun.

Very little movement beyond getting into position, not like a 3-gun where you're running the course. Shooting from field positions and off of various props.

Pistol / Rifle both involved.

Tons of fun, but I'm squarely a middle-of-the-pack shooter looking for giggles more than trophies.

Let me know!

@Matt.Cross ?

Sounds like great fun, I need more practice, at least i think so

No offense....but I've seen Seabees shoot. I can't spend the entire day telling you which end the bullets come out of and why you can't have a beer between stages.

Im not feeling the love....still looking for a sidekick for this shindig

Who knew rifle shooters talk this much smack?
I raffed.

It sounds like fun. Do you have any specifics on the course of fire or the rifle and pistol engagement scenarios?

FWIW, I shoot a 6.5 Creedmoor bolt gun too. What kind of pistol do you plan on running?

Looks like McCracken and I are hooking up. But you should absolutely come out. I was totally comfortable as a newbie last month.

if it’s anything like the last match, targets will be 250-500yards from field positions (barricades, props) and pistol work will vary from an array of 4” knockdowns to full size silhouettes at 120 yards. Honestly, the pistol work was more challenging than I though reasonable for this style match.

I’m back on the prowl for a partner...shooting with ‘cracken would be awkward right about now.

Cost?
Travel same day?

Travel would depend on where you’re at. It’s a 1 day match in Chesterfield, SC. Starts at 0800ish.

It’s $60 if you prepay a week in advance.

I had a ton of fun last month at the individual match.

I would love to do this. Not sure I’m equipped for it yet though.

For a first match, you’re good to go. Jump in and see what it’s all about. I have no chance of winning, I just wanna shoot.

Let me check my schedule and I’ll let you know. It’s just under 2 hrs for me so not bad.

The match sounds interesting. What is the approximate round count, and where can I find out more information about signing up?

so, after all of the above I need to bail out of the match. Family stuff is on deck that I was unaware of.

Hope the family stuff sorts out ok!

Lucky you had to bail, though, or you might have ended up with me as a partner....lol.
(I've just begun with rifles, and don't own one...yet!)

I was on the fence for trying this, but just looked and the Jan match is sold out. Will keep that in mind once registration opens for Feb.
