Any HK builders around here? This isn’t an HK but the Swiss definitely added some HK type touches to their service rifle.

I need a Swiss rear sight welded on my Sig 556.

Doesn’t have to look as good as the factory. Just needs to be secure.

Let me know if you know anyone in the area before I ask my redneck friends for help.

Certified alloy and steel Tig welder here. You will need to clean the finish off both the sight and the receiver before welding. Id disassemble it as much as you can then tape off everything above the bevel on the sight then media blast it. Id also media blast at least half an inch around the weld point on the receiver as well. Four small tacks to keep it set then crank the amperage up and weld fast. The higher the amperage the faster you can move and the less heat gets put into the metal so it shouldn't warp bad.

My advice is find a professional whos done it before and has a variable control tig welder.
