Need Help Identifing Part

I received these from a friend of mine in 2002, 2003, or 2004 with a bunch of cleaning supplies. They are definitely not anything that has been designed or a new product brought to market since then. One has a wire wrapped around the prongs, I'm assuming that is how it was shipped. I believe them to be one of the original Vortex flash hiders from Smith Enterprises, possible dating back to 1994. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Any idea of their current value? Included was a lock washer for each. Is this how it should have been instead of a crush washer? Thank you for your help.

Was your friend an old timer at AR15.com?
Those look like what a member there made and sold years ago as a Vortex knock-off. iirc...I was banned about '07.
 
My buddy is so "anti" he would never put his business on the web. He can barely operate a smart phone now!!!!
