Long story short I told a friend I would refurbish the ruger red label shotgun that belonged to his wife's grandfather.

Another friend offered to cerakote it for me. Well he kept the gun and moved all the while telling me it had been cerkaoted and he'd get it back to me.

Well a year later I finally got it back with some rust blue slapped on the bare spots and no cerakote.

Tony (Muskrat) stepped in and did a beautiful job in under 4 days and got it back to me.

So now for the bigger problem. The forend iron is missing. That's the piece of metal that covers the back of the forend to mate to the receiver and has the take down lever that attaches the forend to the barrel.

I cannot find one anywhere. No luck on brownells or midway. One company shows they have it but it's out of stock.

Anyone have any ide where I can find one fairly quickly.

Part # KOU-79-12

Looked on Ruger's site, but they won't ship it...they list it as a part that has to be fitted at the factory.

Awesome.

That's sarcastic. Not for the help but there's no way I can ship this gun out and get it back in time.

I know an old retired fireman that's heavy into shottys...I'll give him a call this evening.

Ruger is going to be your best/maybe only bet. They won't ship any part that has to do with fit to the gun. The forend iron has to be fitted with a file or it's too tight and will affect how the gun opens and closes. Rugers are usually loose as a goose so the fit isn't all that great to begin with.
Have you tried www.shotgunworld.com ?? Also call Briley in Texas and see if they can source one.....
