We have 4 computers; three laptops and a desktop. The two laptops (newer) are downstairs with Windows 11. Laptop upstairs has Windows 10 and the desktop has Windows 11. The two downstairs have stopped connecting to the internet, most of the time. Every once in a while, the one will connect to the internet. Anybody around Hillsborough who might have any ideas? We use ESET for protection.
One other thing, does anybody know of an internet security site that when you contact them you can speak to a live American. I'm sick and tired of getting an Indian or a Filipino or a Pakastani that I can't understand. I'm also fed up with chat where I can't communicate my problem.

do you have any restore points saved? every now and again (usually on a tuesday) updates start rolling out and they're not always... ready for primetime.
sometimes they figure it out and push a patch do you. sometimes you have to do a restore.
Maybe see if you can get your drivers downloaded to a thumb drive from one of the working computers, then manually install them on the ones that can't connect.

A little while back this laptop started having serious problems with duplicated keystrokes, or keystrokes that wouldn't register at all unless you hit certain other keys with them. It got bad for a day or two after an update. Then I went to go wake it up from sleep and fund it had fully rebooted itself and all they keyboard problems were gone.

It’s not a PC issue. 4 machines don’t get simultaneous connection issues. I’d check your router. Connected via WiFi or Cat 6?

Have you unplugged the router and the cable or DSL or fiber optic box or modem for a few minutes?

Reset the tcpip stack. Googly it. It's just a few commands.

I'm with everyone else, router problem.
Is the router new in that location, or ever tried connecting things downstairs?
Could be the modem going bad(but then you'd have problems upstairs too).
Could be the router going bad or needing to be reset.
Could be that you just have an old house with thick walls and the router in a bad location, and you just have a weak signal. Have you tried a wifi signal strength tester app on your phone?

Also, I'm a red teamer. I'll tell you now, commercial AV, anything beyond the stock Windows Defender, it's not worth it

The first thing I did was to unplug the router. No help. Last night about 9:30 I picked it up and turned mine on. Got internet connection. On about an hour. This morning I couldn't get on. I've screwed around with Wi fi and Bluetooth to no avail. Says they're both off. I turn them on and it still doesn't work. Can't turn wife's on at all. As the first person suggested, restore points. Never made one. I get it fixed, there'll be restore points on all the computers.
