Alright folks... I need some suggestions on how to remove a sling swivel mount from my Barnes Precision Machine carbine. Their rail/handguard came installed with a sling swivel stud on the underside of the rail and I'm trying to remove it without any luck

The stud itself unscrews without issue, but I want to replace it with a section of picatinny rail. However, the socket that the swivel mounts in won't budge. I can see it's threaded on the inside of the rail, so it has to come out somehow.

I can't seem to get any grip on the socket due to the exposed area being so small. There's nothing to get a grip on and I'm sure that I'll scar it pretty bad if I try to get out the locking vise grips.

Any ideas? I already have a call into Barnes Precision but I don't think I'll get a response until next week.

Green loctite the stud back in the “socket” let it dry and back the whole assembly out using an appropriately sized punch/screwdriver/tool. Make sure the “socket” is removable before you loctite
