Yesterday (08-14) I'mYourHuckleberry posted a shotgun for sale here..

    https://www.carolinafirearmsforum.c...gton-870-lw-wingmaster-410.13017/#post-227626

And as you can see I responded indicating I would like to see the gun and most likely purchase it. A few PM's went back and forth concerning a meeting place and time and we spoke on the phone as well.
From my house to the agreed upon meeting place is roughly a 75 mile round trip. I stopped what I was doing work wise and made the drive to meet him at the agreed time.
I inspected the gun and discovered there was a fair amount of rust damage not mentioned in the original ad but even knowing that I agreed to the purchase. Money changed hands and I put the gun in my truck. As we were saying our good-byes he suddenly produces a bill of sale that was never mentioned in the ad he posted. I flatly refused to complete his form and explained the state law requirements and that I would do no more nor any less than the laws of NC required.
He launches into the "a friend of my cousin knows a guy that once heard of" (you know the story) I stopped him and again explained that I wasn't going to complete his bill of sale. At that point I had the gun, he had the money and I could have just driven away, but instead I gave the gun back and got my cash back.
Time & money wasted for nothing......

This is starting to get a little childish don't you think?

I took adequate pictures and described the gun pretty good. It should all the rust it had in the pictures. If he is too blind to see that then he needs better glasses or a bigger computer.

But anyway. Bailey responded to my ad yesterday morning. I told him I was waiting on my 15 month old daughter to get up and said as soon as she was ready we could meet. I called him after I got her ready and he was eating lunch at a restaurant ( not doing "work" like he said). He said he would call back when he got done eating. Soon we were on our way to meet him about halfway. He said it would take him 20 minutes to get there, it was more like 35 but who's counting. Haha. He inspected the gun while I held my daughter. Even though he knew the condition of the gun, he criticized it the whole time. He kept telling me that he was going to send it off to Remington and have them re-finish the barrel and receiver because he wanted to obviously make it a collectors piece. This was the last gun to complete his set. He asked if I would take $400 for it and I told him $500 was my bottom. I had a Buyer lined up if he didn't take it. All the while he was still complaining he tried to offer me two more lower numbers than what I was asking until he finally realized I wouldn't budge. He paid me the money then loaded up the shotgun. We talked for a second. My daughter started getting squirmy so I reached in the truck to get her a toy then realized I forgot the BOS so I pulled it out and asked if he sign it. He said that by law he doesn't have to and he would not sign it. I said all I want it your name (which I already know), your address (which I can look up online) and a signature. He refused and starting fussing. Then swung open his truck door and asked if I wanted my shotgun back. I told him that if he wasn't going to sign then yes I did. So he proceeds to pretty much throw the gun in my arms while I'm still holding my daughter. I tried to explain that I've had friends that has sold firearms and then the next owner had them stolen. If it wasn't for paperwork, the detectives said it could have been bad for them. So I just wanted to cover my butt incase it was ever stolen. I have never mentioned a BOS in my ads before and never had someone refuse to sign one until yesterday.

Staff has determined that this negative feedback will stand. Extra terms not agreed to prior to meeting were required by the seller after the transaction was completed. There was never a mention of a BOS as a requirement for the deal.

In the future please include the terms in the ad, or inform the potential buyer prior to meeting.
This is I'mYourHuckleberry's first negative feedback. Given the fact that this is not the typical no show, ImYourHuckleberry is being given only a warning. We've all learned a lesson here, please list or discuss your terms prior to meeting, like if you require a BOS.

Any future negative feedback can result in a forum ban.
