Nasty outside today so the wife and I decided to watch a movie with my 7 year old.
Pulled up Amazon and this classic was in my feed.

I haven't watched it since I was a kid but I loved it then. The idea that a story could come to life and suck me into it.

But since it had been so long I also thought maybe I'm glorifying it. But I pulled it up anyway.

It was a blast to watch my son watch it. I've never seen him this engrossed in a movie before. And it was honestly as well produced as I remembered it being.

Anyway if you have a kid in that 6-10 age range pull this up sometime and watch them watch it. It was a blast.

I love that film! I watched it with all the kids multiple times. I still pull it up every year or so. Can't wait to watch it with grands, if I ever get any.

I found it on DVD somewhere not long ago and bought it

That one and "Charlie the Lonesome Cougar" were two favorites. Good on you dad. He will thank you for it.

Yeah definitely. But my son has never been upset by any death in any movie. He always says "it's just a movie".

But artax got to him. That's what's so cool about this movie. He was very happy at the end when everyone was back and alive.
