This may not be the right place for this and I know a pistol is not a carbine (yet) but I hope to SBR it if I have the money.

I just bought a new scorpion pistol and hope to SBR it in the future. I haven't had a chance to take it to the range but have started thinking about the various modifications and accessories I would like to make and add. So far, I've only added a couple of 30rd mags to my setup.

My question to all you scorpion owners, what modifications/accessories should be on my "to do/to add" list in order to make my scorpion more enjoyable to shoot?

Thanks

PS: If my wife asks, I've had it for years in the very back reaches of my safe (I'm always surprised what I find back there!).

Thanks, BOG. I still need to get my NFA trust established first. But that will be a topic for another thread. So much to do and so little time.

I honestly shot one mag out of the cz when it was a pistol. I tucked it back in the safe and started ordering things for it.

A good optic goes a long way. I have a primary arms microdot that cost $160. The other thing to upgrade is the safety. $20

Subscribed. Just ordered one and am thinking of making it my first NFA host (SBR and suppressor).

The HB Industries AK style safety lever is pretty nice.

A Scorpion is not the most fun to shoot as a pistol, especially with the right side safety. I'd start with replacing that and then doing the inexpensive trigger spring upgrade with HB Industries parts.

You will have to deal with the welded trigger pack. This video is one way to do so, but not the only way:

There is a rapidly evolving aftermarket parts scene for the Scorpion and Apex Tactical just stepped into the arena with a new grip and safety levers. They also have a folding charging handle and MOST importantly a complete trigger package (sear, springs, & trigger) on the way for 2017.

If you do FB make sure to join the "CZ Scorpion EVO III Enthusiasts" group.

I dislike you so much right now. I wanted to do this today but I couldn't find a hex key small enough. With the snow I didn't even drive out.

Thanks for all the help. My list of items is growing fast thanks to your suggestions. I already have a TRS-25 red-dot to go on top. Now I'm looking at a replacement safety lever. Does the HB Industries AK style lever solve the problem the stock lever has digging into your trigger finger? Also, is the HB trigger a somewhat straight forward replacement job or is gunsmithing needed. I only ask because, according to my wife, I know just enough to screw things up. I was also thinking about replacing the handguard with one from HB. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Wow, that's a HUUUUGE help!

I have the HBI mini-AK selector and LOVE it. Although I have not tried it I think the full AK selector may have a touch too long of throw. I also highly recommend the duckbill mag release.

The Scorpion is fairly straightforward to work on, but watch the videos on HB Industries Youtube channel first and while doing the upgrades.

Angled foregrip and rail covers will make it more comfy to shoot.

Thanks for the list, BOG. I will be busy with all the modifications.

Tigard, I like the idea of rail covers. They may be a better option than going the new handguard route.

This may be a little off topic but what do you use to carry your scorpion around in? I guess I'm looking for a better option other than the cardboard box it can in. I was considering a 36" Plano All Weather rifle case to possibly accommodate my pistol with an attached Shockwave Blade which I hope to swap out when I get my SBR paperwork back.

$10 at Wal-Mart or Academy.

No for that we would have needed that backpack, and a rocket launcher. Only then would it have felt like we weren't outgunned

I installed the AK style HB safety last night. I'm a fan, the stock safety was difficult for my old fingers to work.

I have the same one and love it. Can't go wrong and I've never shot an AK.

The extra leverage makes it so much easier to flip on and off as well.

Very nice, looks similar to an AR aftermarket grip ala magpul or BCM, does it have a similar feel to it?

Yes, feels similar to MOE with a slight difference in texture.

Please let us know when these become available to the general public. I've seen the chatter in the FB group that is should be available "soon".

Out of curiosity did you compare it to the Apex Tactical grip?

Apex grip is too small.

The Pathfinder is scheduled for release 1st week of February and will be available on Amazon for $39.99 shipped.

Not too small for those of us with little dainty hands compared to your catchers mitt - lol

Any more info on this? I just checked Amazon and didn't find anything for Pathfinder Scorpion grip...just gives me a bunch of Pirelli tires. :D

And if I remove Scorpion, I end up with Pachmayr results.

I so want to rob your home. But even if I knew where it was I'd be too cowardly to try. You own some great weaponry. Even the bladed ones. Keep posting pics.

I'll get a good pic tonight, but here's what I have done on mine:

CZ SBR'd on Form 1 with factory folding stock
Trijicon MRO on low mount
CZ Factory Right Hand Safety delete
PMM left hand large safety selector
Apex Optimized grip
HBI Trigger spring kit
HBI duckbill mag release
HBI Theta charge handle
Inforce WML light
BCM stubby VFG

Still trying to decide on what irons I am going to grab. I am thinking the Troy Micro HK style, but I want to be able to see and fondle a set before I commit.
