2010 GMC sierra and they are starting to cloud up pretty good. Yes, I know I can restore them, been there, done that, ready for a long term fix. Looking at Rock Auto, they have various grades from Economy to Factory. Anything I should look for in particular? NSF versus CAPA? Throw in a set of economy and roll the dice on something happening?

Thanks in advance

I priced a set from Rock and ran the same part numbers on Amazon, they were about 15% less expensive for same part, plus I have prime vs shipping via Rock.
both came with new Philips halogen and amber turn signal bulbs installed for my'99 Sable.

Do you remember the brand?

As I warned a friend who did this. Keep the factory set around!

If your doing “factory replacement parts. Keep the old real stuff for small parts. Bulb sockets, wiring harnesses, small parts, etc. the housings look great but the sockets of the aftermarket set of taillights he bought are loosey goosey. The bulbs fall out....

I was with him when he went to toss the old. “Hey man, I think you should toss those in the shed, in case you need the harness or some such”.... Na they’ll be in the way. I just bought new.....

6 months later constant issues that could been solved with the old factory parts intergrated.

Cheap headlights are a no go. Any chance of finding an OEM set online? I did that recently for one of my cars.

That is sage advice, thank you.

TYC that are CAPA certified with no bulbs and harnesses are on the way, OEM was literally twice as much. If they last 5 years, I will be happy.

A fringe benefit: your truck will look much better without those cloudy white headlights.

I have been neglecting her. After doing some crappy touchup with a $20 AC Delco paint pen, she isn't looking half bad. New headlights will be the icing on the cake. I can't afford a newer one, might as well make this one look good again. Plus it needs to last me another 8 years and 100,000 miles.

Just got an email back from RockAuto, headlights should be here end of day Saturday. That would be just in time to get them put in on Sunday or Monday.

Well, the update bug has bitten hard now. I have always wanted fog lights on this truck and miss having them after on my previous truck. I had been looking at that kit from GM for factory integration but kept putting it off due to the amount. I also might be putting hideaway strobes in the fog light housing which will open me up to more issues.

But than I saw this on fleabay. I can't help but wonder how much of a risk it is.

Dont buy the replacements. Take yours out and take them to a reputable body shop and have them sand up to 2000 and clear coat them and bake them. Then they will have the same finish as the rest of your car. UV and fade resistant and washes and waxes just like the rest of the car. Wont cost you too much. Just make sure they use good clear.

Finally got the headlight housings installed after they got here quickly from rock auto. Very happy with results, looks even better in the sun.

Old versus new. The new ones still have the protective film on them.

All done. Will go aim them tonight. The passenger side is showing about 2ft higher than the driver at 10ft away from a wall.
