Hey everyone my name is Curt and thanks for having me. I've joined because I'd like to get to know my "neighbors" who may be into the same things that I am which includes firearms. Coming from the west coast to here has been substantially different. For example hearing gunshots was never a good thing back in my hometown, and hearing gunshots here is usually waived off or explained as someone plinking in the woods. With that being said, thanks for having me and I'm glad to meet y'all.

Welcome!
from a previous Westcoaster.
It takes a little getting used to, but that fades fast.

Welcome from the resident German (literally) grammar Nazi (not literally)!

Hello from Raleigh, you're going to like it here on CFF. I escaped from LI NY in 1990.

Welcome Curt. NC is a good place to be. I moved here, from San Diego, CA about 7 years ago. I hope you like it here (NC and CFF).

Have a great day!

Hi. Learn to love Duke's mayonnaise, sweet tea, and grits. Now we got that out of the way, enjoy your time here.
You forgot the vinegar on the BBQ.

Welcome Curt. 6 year transplant from the west coast myself. Never been happier.

Welcome. Yeah I'm semi-retired LE and we used to laugh when our comm center was still in-house and we'd get calls from folks from up north, west coast, former large city folks about shooting. And it's like THEY were not getting it when the dispatcher queried them "Are they shooting at your house?" "Do you think it's involving some criminal behavior?" They would be like "BUT THEY ARE SHOOTING GUNS!!!!" Our SOP was to drive out and just assure they were shooting in a safe direction and had a safe backstop and clear. Often some of gun guys would even ask them what they were shooting. I recall one specific time a caller on a narrow lake lot could literally see the people shooting (one the next narrow lake lot) and when me and my backup arrived, we got out and talked with them about guns and even handled their SKS and AK type semi. We sat and laughed and talked about guns for probably 20 minutes and left, and assured them that as long as all was kosher we were not there (and couldn't) stop them from shooting. That caused a major formal compliant to the Sheriff (which was of course found be without merit.)

^^This!

No need to learn to love Dukes, clearly it blows Best Foods (Helmans) away.

More importantly, buy some Neese's Sausage, and thank me later.

As a former west coaster myself, I can tell you that you won't miss it.

Welcome btw!

i don’t know why anyone’s niece would have a sausage nor why he’d want to buy it…. Smith’s red and white sausage in gold rock… that’s the sausage.
