I'm a bit taken by surprise. I've never owned a Leupold scope, but I heard invariably great things about them, aside from the price point. I purchased two flip covers, since the cover it came with was awful. By awful, I mean I'm 99% sure it was made out of the same material as sex toys (not that I have a great deal of experience, just saying.) It stuck on everything when you tried to put it in a bag, and came off as a result, leaving the lens bare; not a useful thing for a backpacking gun.

The flip covers, both of them, fit perfectly on the front, but neither will screw into the rear. It will "sorta" screw in maybe a thread or two deep, but no further. I was thinking the threading wasn't quite up to snuff.

At any rate, from what I see of Leupold's website, their going to want me to do all this crazy shit, like send it through an insured and tracked parcel service, pay for the shipping, ect. This scope, to me, is less than two weeks old, and while I wait for a reply, I wanted to know if any of you have any experience with their customer service, and manner of handling these sorts of things?

Also, just an addition. There may be a different cover for the eyepiece? Not sure yet. Never occurred to me they might be different. Anyone?

You guys with bad Leupolds are a bit thin on specifics.
Leupold makes scopes at all price points, including Walmart specials.

OP which scope did you buy?
Those threads are very fine and easy to cross thread.

I have broke scope covers on $2300 USOs so.....Yeah.
I agree that better scope covers are hard to find, but I'm not sure how this speaks to the quality of Leupold scopes.

The scope covers are different for the occular, than the objective.
Have you actually phoned Leupold? They have great customer service, unless you are an unserviceable customer.

I gave up on Leupold.. After using them exclusively for 30+ years.. The last two I bought were junk.. well, certainly less than their old stuff..

If you bought one of their scopes in 1982 for $350, and you bought one in 2015 for $350. You didn't get anywhere near the same quality.

Long story short, I was an idiot. Two different lens caps. The descriptions are mighty obscure. Anyone wants a 32-33mm lens cover, it's free to a good home.
