Yellowstone follows "the Dutton family, led by John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States, under constant attack by those it borders — land developers, an Indian reservation, and America’s first National Park. It is an intense study of a violent world far from media scrutiny — where land grabs make developers billions, and politicians are bought and sold by the world’s largest oil and lumber corporations. Where drinking water poisoned by fracking wells and unsolved murders are not news: they are a consequence of living in the new frontier. It is the best and worst of America seen through the eyes of a family that represents both.

From the article: http://www.foxnews.com/entertainmen...olicies-dont-recognize-america-right-now.html
"Actor Kevin Costner criticized the Trump administration’s border policy saying he does not 'recognize America right now.'

Costner joins a group of celebrities ‒ including Reese Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres and Willie Nelson ‒ in publicly denouncing the border policy."

I don't care what celebrities say, I watch for the entertainment value they provide.

I saw this thread.and thought I'd give it a try
To be.truthfull . episodic tv doesn't hold my interest.the shows I'm willing to invest the time in to follow regularly are few and far between.
But four episodes in and I'm kinda hooked.

I am enjoying the series so far. It seems as if the redhead has trouble keeping her clothes on in almost every episode.

As far as Kevin Costner and his border ideas..... Well he has a huge spread in South Dakota near Deadwood and Lead. He has it all secured by fences and even security. Funny how the rich and elite say “do as I say, not as I do”.

Yeah, I like it but that just means they will cancel it like any show that is actually good.

Saw this quote from Matthew Bracken, who I know many folks here are fans of, regarding the show.
Did anybody watch the final episode of "Yellowstone" on the Paramount network? I've been watching all season, and the final episode really turned me off.

The new extremely evil villains turn out to be the "White Star Militia of Montana." They are holding Kevin Kostner's grandkid as a kidnap victim, in service to the two evil (and uber-white) Beck brothers. When the hero cowboys (and one Indian) raid the "miltitia compound," and then the house where the little boy is being held, all the "White Star Militia of Montana" idiots are portrayed as white supremacist Nazis, wearing "Right to Bear Arms" t-shirts, unless they are in camo.

And all over the walls are a mix of Gadsden flags, RKBA slogans, Confederate flags, and Nazi swastika flags.

The Hollywood propaganda point is clear: if you are a white guy who supports the 2nd Amendment, you are probably a white supremacist Nazi who should be killed like a mad dog, the way the evil white militia guys were wasted en-masse in the last episode of Yellowstone.
...

Considering who he is, I don't think anyone would find his opinion/observations surprising. Was it as bad as he made it sound?

New season starts tomorrow night.

1 hour to go!
Don't forget to set your DVR...

I have been binge watching this and ozark with the old lady... Good show, Last night seemed a little slow but first episode of evey new season has to set the tone for the rest of the season so it was to be expected. It has a great cast. That damn costner looks like he hasnt aged much in last 15-20 years!

Yeah, I bet all of the celebrities think that the borders of their properties should be protected.

Without any spoilers...how was this season? I’m going to finally watch it over the next week or so.

Finally got around to it. Eight episodes Friday and the last two yesterday. Heckuva ending.

Old thread resurfaced, I see.

For anybody who has never been to Yellowstone, you would be hard pressed to find a place more awesomely beautiful.

And I say that as a retired Sailor who has been to a great many places in the world.

My visit to Yellowstone happened in '93, on my way back across country from the Seattle area. April, as I recall. I was in front of a storm front the whole way across the mountains. I dropped down into Yellowstone from the North, probably on Hwy 89, and as I entered, I went up in elevation...and the drizzly rain turned to snow, on top of the already 24 inches which covered the entire park.

There was only one road open, and that was the one plowed to the hot springs area.

Take a camera. Buy the big, full color picture books in the souvenir shops. Take the time to walk the paths through the hot springs area. Watch some geysers.

You will leave Yellowstone with vivid memories of the natural wonders of the world that will permanently mark your soul and last you a lifetime.

I remember stopping just outside of Yellowstone, proper, at what I can only describe as a "commune". Quaint, relaxing, very nice people, and some killer bread (I left with a couple loaves). Darned if I can remember exactly where it was at, and I can't see anything on the map that looks right. I want to say it was around Gardiner, Montana, but it's pretty well developed there and I don't see anything on the map that confirms this. Perhaps they don't exist any more.

I would put Yellowstone at the top of recommended places to visit for anybody willing to make a long vacation trip.

Just started Season 3. Still loving it.

As an aside, I can see why in Season 2 they used a right-wing militia as the bad guys in the finale. Because hell, ANTIFA and BLM sure ain't gonna be hiding out in Montana. :)

They could have set it in San Francisco and called it Ghirardelli Square, they still would use some right wingers. :p

Rofl - I agree.

I understand why it's annoying, we are always vilified, but I just think for the story and the location, it worked.

Yep this is America and we protect even their right to sound stupid.

The only problem with this is when its propagating the wrong ideas and conveying wrong to our children the children one day will grow up and think that wrong is right and right is wrong, this is what is happening now.

Im all for freedom of speech and rights but we are now reaping the fruit of seeds sown of last several generations.

*****SPOILERS******

Ok, Iove this show.
It's dark and gritty.
We get to see the strong if not slutty woman in the daughter.
We get to see the supposed SEAL in Casey, even though that guy looks like a pretty boy who would struggle to do a pushup...
We get to see the duality of ultimate manliness in Rip vs the dorky snarky lawyer son who is less than manly...
We get to see what happens when a great veteran actor (Costner) acts in the same scene as a noob who is terrible (Grandson or daughter in law)
We get to see a thoroughly menacing yet impotent Danny Huston, who is used to being ruthless and then learns what ruthless really is, and some actual character development along his arc.
The scene where Costner is drinking with his dad and saying goodbye got me good.
They scene where the idiot daughter in law is like "I killed a man today" to her supposed SEAL husband even though she dint kill anyone, the sniper with the braids did the wet work, she just set the guy up to die, and he was a serial killer and rapist, but yeah, let's feel sorry for him... She is really horrible as an actor.... Just the worst, except for the twerp who plays her kid. The grandson, I was glad when he was kidnapped.

So how is everybody watching Yellowstone? I loaded the Peacock channel on my Roku, we watched episode one and now they want $4.99 a month to go forward. Are there any other options?
