For anyone looking for a scope for a .22 or similar rimfire you should take a look at the new Strike Eagle 5-25x56. It's about $650 street price, 110 MOA/31 mils of elevation, FFP, parallax down to 15 yards, lockable turrets, zero stop, and a great reticle for holds. Comes in Mil or MOA depending on what you prefer. For a NRL22/PRS style set up this would work great. Also for an ELR rimfire on a 40-50 MOA base it will allow you to really reach out. I got one coming in soon and will drop and impressions when unboxed.

Check it out.

Here's a pic of the Strike Eagle next to the Razor II 4.5-27 and the PST Gen II 5-25. A very nice scope for it's price range. I am waiting on rings but hopefully will get it mounted up next week.

Well I made it to the range today and even though I don't have the Strike Eagle mounted up yet I was able to do some good comparisons with the 5-25 PST Gen II. I looked at targets from 100 to 550 yards, which is as far as the range went.

The Strike Eagle did very well. A friend, Gary, was out there too and looked through the Strike Eagle and he himself is a PST Gen II 5-25 owner and had his as well as mine out there to compare. We both agreed the PST just edged out the Strike Eagle for glass clarity but it was close. The clarity to the edge of glass was actually pretty good also. Again slightly better in the PST but not by much.

Feild of View is one place the Strike Eagle seemed to slightly be better. At 25x with both scope you get the following in the reticle for hold over.

Strike Eagle: full 7 mils viewable on reticle. You can see down to 8.5 mils and on the 8 mil line you had 3 mils of wind visible to use.

PST Gen II: Full 6 mils of viewable. You can see down to 8 mils and on the 7 mil line you had 4 mils of wind visible to use.

I had my PST on an AR in a 0 MOA base and zeroed I had 10 mils of elevation. Gary had his on a 20 MOA base and had about 16 mils of elevation. With that even with the zero stop set up and you getting 18 mils of elevation you still get more than the PSTs. Just something for people to contemplate.

Again I can not wait for the rings to show up and I can get it mounted up on my Vudoo with the 40 MOA base. I will post back elevation info with both the zero stop and without.

Well finally got my rings in and got my Strike Eagle mounted up on my Vudoo. The Vudoo has a 40 MOA base so after zeroing I had 24 mils up and 8.6 mils down from my zero. I didn't use the zero stop as having under a full revolution below my zero I wasn't worried about it at this point. I will say after zeroing, dialing up and down and then back to zero I took another shot and it was right on my zero. No shift which is good. I am looking forward to testing out the Strike Eagle. Seems to be a very good optic for the money.

I took my usual 100 yard tracking target and put it at my 50 yard range at home. Laid the reticle against it and it was right on. Then I shot the target. Being at 50 yards each space is 2 mils so the 10 mil mark is 20 mils. I dialed up to 20 mils at 2 mils each. I think it did pretty good. As you can see from the bottom before and after the zero was a little high to begin with but after dialing back to it it was right there for return to zero.
