Nfa engraving

What did you get engraved and where did they engrave it?

That's cool I didn't know you could engrave in the magwell
I’ve chosen not to do it, but a lot of people do. Most argue they’d remove a mag before handing it over to the ATF, so it would be visible. So many other places (like around the trigger hole) to choose.

Yeah, you just have to abide by the ATFs regulations on font size and depth.
And in most cases, you only have to worry about depth. The SN is the only bit of info with a size requirement, so (at least with the AR platform) unless you’re starting with an 80% lower, you already have a serial number engraved elsewhere.

All of mine are in the mag well lip. Been doing it that way for 15 years or so. The only exception being the odd shotgun that gets done on the barrel and a Stribog that I had done through a handguard slot onto the barrel.

Last time I saw an ATF agent was when I was a dealer. Ive never seen one in the wild.

Not Greensboro, but close by in Burlington.

My dad's xmas present is with them right now. I'll post pictures when I get it back. They are quoting 1 to 2 day turn around right now.

How did the Christmas present turn out?

$80 for the two engravings, was done in 4 business days dropped off on 12/14. I don't think 300 blackout is perfectly centered but it'll be okay.

They said they will engrave profanity (I have an idea for a magazine design)

Sent it on the trust engravings while waiting on the form 1 approval. Added something extra while I was at it.

I thought so. Guess just personalizing it.
Type of firearm makes no difference. Whoever makes (Form 1) or manufactures (Form 2) has to engrave it. From that point on, it’s just F3/F4/F5 transfers, and no additional engraving.

So Form 1 silencers require engraving, while a Form 4 SBR/SBS does not for the buyer…as it’s already been engraved.

I have 10 Form 1 cans…engraved all of them.

One of the high points of living in South Carolina is that if you do a form 1 on a SBR and the original firearm or receiver manufacturer is in South Carolina such as PSA , PTR or FN etc they have already engravesd "SC" in the receiver . You don't need to. Name and city only. Saves you exactly 0 dollars at engraving time.
