NICS data year to date

Yea what an inconvenience to those of us used to waiting 10 minutes....my last 2 transfers took over an hour and the FFL had 4 phones going. America is arming up....suck it marxists!

Since January of 2010, there have been over 220 MILLION.

IIRC, last count for total small arms possessed by the U.S. military and L.E. agencies (fed/state/local) combined was around 6-7 million.

Boy, did they butcher "The Admiral"'s message(s) with that movie! Starship Troopers is a great Heinlein story, full of his best martial and political philosophies. The movie and the author's point parted ways early on, imo.

Those data are more than a little impressive! I am heartened; it gets harder and harder to hate guns, the more guns you own. :)

Same here.

Something else the data proves is the narrative pushed by the media/politicians that, "the American people want more restrictions / less guns in society / have an aversion to owning guns" is pure hogwash.

Now, I'm well aware that "gun owner" doesn't necessarily = staunch liberty advocate and it'd be foolish to think every one of the folks represented in those numbers embraces the RTKBA as intended, but over 100,000 firearms per day?

To me, that's indicative of folks that see 'the writing on the wall'.

You can’t count 2010 and 2020 as the same decade.

You either have to start at 0 and end at 9, or start at 1 and end at 0.

:p

I hope so, it appears the marxists (Antifa) are arming up as well

A NICS check doesn't necessarily mean a firearm purchase. NICS checks are done for Concealed Handgun Permits and with a CHP you can buy all the damn guns you want without another NICS check.:)

On average it means more than one I expect. Would be interesting to know how many.

True. However, most new or occasional gun buyers aren't getting CHPs and go through the phone call check. Therefore, it's a good barometer of gun purchase activity overall.

If anything, it's a low-end measure! And that's a good thing.

I think this entirely depends on who is buying them. It's (possibly) good for 2A, and probably good for longer term as the dimwits that previously spouted their horseshit about how easy it is now know different - but personally I don't want a bunch of armed lefties out there.

The director refused to read most of the book because he thought it was Fascist propoganda and pulled the movie out of his arse.
