Just something I’m thinking about and y’all are pretty dang good at placing values on things... 2001 Nissan Xterra XE, 4x4, v6. Approx. 80k miles, one owner. Has rough idle, runs great, idles rough. Probably needs work to power steering, and has bad ac hose. It will hold a charge for a while but leaks down. It’s black, cloth interior, awful radio. I still drive it occasionally, it’s very reliable.
~ $3,500 w/ those issues before fixing. Or $3,500 plus cost of repairs, within reason... Say $4500 max. If everything (seats, controls, headliner, glass, paint and tires are 90%
Going off your description....$2500-3k. What you've listed as problems seem simple but you could end up spending a good bit of money getting them fixed. You also might take care of them for next to nothing...it's a gamble. That said, a lower mileage 4x4 anything should be worth at least $2k.
I agree on the price, I would probably have it checked out quickly to see if you can get it fixed cheap and crank up the price a bit.
I wish there was a really good foreign car repair shop around here I could leave it with for a few days.
Yes, it had a full tune up and timing belt replacement after it developed the rough idle. The idle seems to fluctuate in severity so it’s possible it’s the dizzy but everyone I’ve talked to seems to think that would throw a code. Seems more like a vacuum leak to me but they cram so much stuff under the plenum I’d need all day to check it.
