Yes, I saw a post that said that most criminals use cheap foreign imports.

Of course, that same theory resulted in the "Saturday Night Special" ban in the '60s, meant to ban cheap handguns. Note that there are no simple, basic handgun imports on the market. This law is why.

The original SNS was a cheap 38 special revolver that would somethings break apart when fired.
Now it is a catch all label for any cheaply made, low priced handgun.

Eliminating the ban on buying handguns across state lines will void these bans and "approved" lists.

Some states still have melting point laws basically outlawing guns made of inexpensive alloys. See the comment on this Hi-Point listing: https://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/169719/916m/

Hi Point pistols are illegal for sale in the states of Illinois and Minnesota due to "melting point" laws.
