I'd like to try one. I like metal.
Go home CZ boy, you're drunk.
Same people who think they should buy a S&W M&P 2.0 Metal - fudds.Metal frame with polymer clamshell grip? Odd but OK I guess. Wonder who the target audience is?
I agree. I think of the P1 which is a P38 with an aluminum frame. They had to add a steel insert as a remedial action to fix frame cracking issues.Same people who think they should buy a S&W M&P 2.0 Metal - fudds.
Reality is, aluminum offers the worst of both worlds. The weight of plastic without the durability of plastic or steel, sharper recoil impulse than plastic, and none of the recoil reduction offered from the substantially heavier steel guns.
@JBoyette Is the Sphinx 3000 a similar polygrip/metal frame design?Metal frame with polymer clamshell grip? Odd but OK I guess. Wonder who the target audience is?
Never heard of the Sphinx but that’s a much more substantial metal frame. The one in the OP looks to be more than simply grip panels, and more like a complete clamshell grip module if you will. It’s almost like they didn’t want you to touch metal.@JBoyette Is the Sphinx 3000 a similar design?

Designing from scratch is one thing, but replicating a polymer frame without accounting for fatigue issues rarely works out for the better.I agree. I think of the P1 which is a P38 with an aluminum frame. They had to add a steel insert as a remedial action to fix frame cracking issues.

Anyone who wants to pay more for an aluminum framed version of a polymer gun that has zero inherent advantages, just because “it isn’t plastic”, is a fudd.So anybody who wants an aluminum frame is a fudd?
That's dumb.
A "fudd" is someone who believes in restrictions for the 2nd Amendment, but claims to support it at the same time. I'm not sure how someone wanting a aluminum framed handgun, even if there's a plastic version, shows that they are a "fudd".Anyone who wants to pay more for an aluminum framed version of a polymer gun that has zero inherent advantages, just because “it isn’t plastic”, is a fudd.

If Bear Creek makes one from metal it'll come out covered in tooling marks!Bear Creek Arsenal was kicking around the idea of making a metal Glock lower. Don’t know if they decided to move forward or scraped the idea.

I dunno. Maybe if one really loved FNs and wanted one that wasn't so squishy?
Yes,@JBoyette Is the Sphinx 3000 a similar polygrip/metal frame design?
