Non-binary pistol fluid? I am confused...

Haven't watched the vid, but hasn't this been done before, more than once?

I seem to remember Lone Wolf doing it over 10 years ago and being a total flop due to lack of reliability.

Seems pretty nice. Glockalikes are popular.

I'd like to try one. I like metal.

Metal frame with polymer clamshell grip? Odd but OK I guess. Wonder who the target audience is?
Same people who think they should buy a S&W M&P 2.0 Metal - fudds.

Reality is, aluminum offers the worst of both worlds. The weight of plastic without the durability of plastic or steel, sharper recoil impulse than plastic, and none of the recoil reduction offered from the substantially heavier steel guns.

I agree. I think of the P1 which is a P38 with an aluminum frame. They had to add a steel insert as a remedial action to fix frame cracking issues.

Bear Creek Arsenal was kicking around the idea of making a metal Glock lower. Don’t know if they decided to move forward or scraped the idea.

@JBoyette Is the Sphinx 3000 a similar polygrip/metal frame design?

Never heard of the Sphinx but that’s a much more substantial metal frame. The one in the OP looks to be more than simply grip panels, and more like a complete clamshell grip module if you will. It’s almost like they didn’t want you to touch metal.

Designing from scratch is one thing, but replicating a polymer frame without accounting for fatigue issues rarely works out for the better.

So anybody who wants an aluminum frame is a fudd?

That's dumb.

Anyone who wants to pay more for an aluminum framed version of a polymer gun that has zero inherent advantages, just because “it isn’t plastic”, is a fudd.

A "fudd" is someone who believes in restrictions for the 2nd Amendment, but claims to support it at the same time. I'm not sure how someone wanting a aluminum framed handgun, even if there's a plastic version, shows that they are a "fudd".

No actually it isn't, lol.

I dunno. Maybe if one really loved FNs and wanted one that wasn't so squishy?

If Bear Creek makes one from metal it'll come out covered in tooling marks!

That's a bug, not a feature. Much like the patented DogGnaw® stippling that someone had on their gun in the BST.

Yes,
Just know Sphinx is bankrupt.

The Kriss import pistols still have a warranty
