Dontchya just hate it when one of us gets to obsessing? šŸ¤£

For the last coupla years I've really enjoyed the hands-free LBV/scabbard woods carry set up so I can indulge in my personality foible of making-holes-in-the-woods w/o constantly fidgeting with some slung firearm. And now I want the firearm to be quiet. What's worked for that carry has been the lil Rossi 45C and it fits perfectly in the not-very-"tall" scabbard and is just the right length @33.5". I'm sure I could SBR that and end up with too-much-money-inna-cheap-rifle. So I wanna check into other options that ain't a boat anchor.
And yes, Camp 9/45/PC Chargers and the like, I'm lookin right at you, Big Daddy! ~~Kramer
Anyways, any experience or opinions concerning more "traditional" layout hosts for a 9mm/45 can? Thanks! šŸ¤  šŸ‘

Im looking at the 77/44 and 77/357, but they strike me as very pricey for what they are.

Iā€™ve also looked at the bolt action Armscor .22tcm to 9mm conversion. Iā€™m not sure how deep that rabbit hole would go. I vaguely remember someone here doing one.

Yup. Those rabbit holes can get outta hand quickly.
But figgered I'd post cause I'm sure somebody's noodled this before.
It's prolly gonna end up being "more efficient" to re-do my scabbard set up.
What jacks the current rig is a lack of a molle panel at the top where the drag strap is.

You used a lot of words that in aggregate donā€™t describe what you do want. My take is that you want a 35 or 45 cal suppressed sbr lever gun. If thatā€™s right, then donā€™t molest your current Rossi, just buy a Rossi Ranch Hand in whatever caliber you like. No shoulder stock, but you can add one later if you really want to SBR.

Management thinking.. šŸ¤  šŸ‘

Thatā€™s a good idea. Do any of those ranchhands or mares legs or whatever come threaded?

I was thinking you were a politicianšŸ˜‚

There were some special runs that were, but looking around it seems that the Ranch Hand has been discontinued. They were closed out around $375 and now sell for about $900x$1,000. Itā€™d be cheaper and more fun to SBR a regular Rossi carbine.

Chiappa and Rossi both make a threaded .357. Not an SBR, but you could have it trimmed down and rethreaded later.
Nice.
Having a solid mounting option for a dot is key for my old eyes.
Got an email in to the gang at Steve's askin about available mounting options for a Ranch Hand on the off chance I trip over one.
Here's the current version.. I ain't opposed to cuttin it down and threading it if other options are more expensive than they're worth.
The search continues..

Marlin makes one:

I was considering the Marlin and Rossi, but ended up buying the Henry:

(It now has a scope instead of the Lil P)

Iā€™ve got one of the Marlins. It is my fave suppressor host. I am hopeful Ruger will add these to their Marlin lineup in the next year or two and I can get another one.

Have you considered a bolt action rifle such as a Ruger American Ranch rifle in 7.62x39 or 300 Blackout? 16.5" threaded barrel, lightweight, comes with a rail mounted on the receiver for optics and the ability to take hi capacity mags if need be. Can be had for less than $500 and easy to suppress.

If Ruger came out with a threaded bolt action PCC similar to their autoloaders and kept the price comparable, they would sell a boatload. Especially if they could keep the same adapter setup to allow them to take Glock mags.

I'd buy one in 9mm and .45 right now.

Or .38spc and .44mag instead.

The 77 series is just too expensive for a toy that I want to fling lead quietly with.

Maybe we should spam Keltec with requests.

I have one in X39 that I absolutely love. SBRā€™d it and cut it down to 10ā€. Itā€™s very accurate with brown bear subs for what it is.

Fondled an LC Carbine today at Fred's.
Not exactly "non-Tacticool" but whot a shame that lil bugger only comes in 22MagT.. šŸ¤£
