Thanks in advance if you make it through this long post. We all have to start somewhere I suppose!
Total suppressor FNG here but I'm finally ready to change that. I've been cooped up at home and researching options and applications, but frankly it's pretty overwhelming surfing through all the forums, gun websites, YT videos, etc. There are so many options and exponentially more opinions. So I'm turning to folks I may not know personally, but who I largely trust for advice, input, and suggestions.
This suppressor would live on my PSA AK-V as my primary home defense gun - PCC in 9mm, 1/2-28. It would visit the range, but would experience few high volume and/or rapid fire scenarios - no more mag dumps for this bad boy (the ranges here are TERRIBLE). I'm not much of a handgun guy at all, but as many of you know I do love my AKs. It would be awesome to have a PCC suppressor that could also work on an Arsenal SLR or a Galil ACE.
Besides the Liberty Mystic X, I'm not finding many options that can handle such disparity and realize you sacrifice performance for the sake of a "do all" suppressor. Alternatively, the Dead Air Wolfman looks nice and I dig the ability to convert it to short configuration as well.
TL;DR - is it practical/realistic to think I can play around with a suppressor that handles 7.62x39, 5.45, 5.56, and 9mm while protecting my wife's and my hearing in an (God forbid) emergency? Or should I turn my focus to a can designed specifically for 9mm/PCCs (I do dig the Rugged Obsidian9), and then if it is as fun as I think it'll be I just bite the proverbial bullet and add a PBS-1 down the road?
There are literally hundreds if not thousands of options and suggestions out there, but if some of you guys with experience in this field could choose one or two cans to be the last you'd ever own (that also kinda match my criteria above), what would they be?
Guys - many thanks for your input. I can read and read and read but it all blends together and gets quite confusing. I really appreciate the help.
