Just read about this thing in the most recent Firearms News. Seems except for the select fire option of the original, it looks true to form.
Down side is the price, Five thousand dollars, and its a limited run production item.

If I had the coin, that would make a nice addition to the collection. For such a limited-issue item, I guess $5k doesn't seem very ridiculous. Look at the Ohio Ordnance Works M1918 BAR reproductions: they're upwards of $4k a pop as well.

If you can't afford a genuine FG42, then this is the ticket. You'd certainly be the coolest kid on the block
 
Boutique firearms like this one make me nervous. The production run is small and the support for the series relies on a couple of guys in a small shop. If there are serious problems in the future with the gun the owner may be out of luck.
