Not receiving notifications when tagged

I'm not receiving notifications when I'm tagged, even though I have the setting turned on.

Ive heard if you tag @premise in a post, @premise only gets one notification, no matter how many times @premise is tagged.
It is true @premise ? Did @premise only get one notification that I tagged @premise in a thread started by @premise ?
