So we got back from shooting in the Nationals last weekend. Friday was very warm. Saturday, overcast and cool, good shootin weather. Sunday ditto. We did pretty good in carbines. The rules gods decided to move us up from A3 division to A2 were the sharks are mucho bigger in the pond. Even so, we still took a solid 4th place out of over 60 teams in the division. Looking at the scores, the top three would have been contenders in A1 so if I was a betting man, I'd say we're going to see three teams get pushed up to A1.

Sunday was the musket event. The wheels fell completely off and rolled over the embankments and into the river. Nobody on our team could hit much of anything. (Hey, it happens in black powder). I had one good event out of 5 on the relay and hit 6 out of the 12 hanging tiles with the rest of the team accounting for the remaining 6. Again, everybody had a pretty bad day as far as shooting goes. I had two mediocre events and two that were outright stinkers. We struggled to even get into mid pack out of 60+ teams and I know the guys on our team, if they're on point, we can mow targets down with panache. But that didn't happen Sunday.

Even so, had a great time, met with friends, bought some gun stuff only available at this event. Next shoot in two weeks at Statesville, better get the lead pot warmed up tonight and get to casting some minie balls that will shoot straight. :D

I need to join this. Shot my two-band Enfield (repro 1858) yesterday. It is quite accurate.

Shooting rifle-muskets is a great time.

Ok Bones92, come on over to Statesville next weekend. Small skirmish being shot Saturday and Sunday. PM me for details.
