Like the title says, no problem. Wonder if I will need to start making my own bacon again. Of course, still need flour, salt and pork.
What else, other than ammo are you making now?

We must be long lost cousins. I have a loaf of no knead bread proofing right now that will get baked in about an hour. I will make kneaded bread too, but I much prefer the stand mixer, which is at our other house, over the by hand method. I've made this a few times and it's a reliable recipe. Decided to make it yesterday when I couldn't find any bread, which is a key way to make you crave a sandwich. As luck would have it, though, I did find bread yesterday. The kind my wife wanted too.

I am using the recipe from Jaden at Steamy kitchen. The recipies are probably similar. This one uses 3C of flour, 1.5C of water, yeast and a teaspoon of salt. Stir and let sit 12-20 hours. Then put on a floured surface to pinch it up and let it proof again and then bake.

A couple of tricks I've read along the way are to do a 5m knead, rest 5 minutes, and then knead about 6-7 minutes with the mixer. The rest period helps the gluten stretch better. Another trick is to throw a 1/2c of water in the oven when you put the bread in to make it steam which improves the crust.

Sally Lunn is a lot quicker, but requires butter, warm milk and eggs. Mix, rose about an hour, stir and pour into th e pan. Rise again and bake. Looks like a hunt cake.

My wife has little faith in my or my son’s ability to bake ... she keeps quite a few BIG boxes of Bisguick mix then has some recipe cards so if pushed my son and I can made biscuits or a couple other things if we can’t buy bread. So with the COVID-19 panic we actually can handle it fairly easy ... we even have frozen 2% milk in smaller quantity bottles some we’ll have milk for baking. Thinking like this thread brings up shows how independent (or dependent) people are on even the simplest things like loaf bread.

Finally found unbleached flour in the store today and got the last yeast they had. Wanted unbleached bread flour but this is just general purpose.

I've never done the no knead before. I've always liked to flour the board and put some back into it.
But, you guys have inspired me..

Started this yesterday. I'll turn it out after I come back from burning the weeds around the yard this morning.
This should go good with tonight pot roast and gravy..

Bon appetit has the best no knead focaccia recipe. This came out perfectly and it probably some of the best focaccia I’ve ever had.
