We had a last minute target submitted by Smok3y, he posted a score of 17. Congratulations on a great target! We also had a tie for 2nd place in the last challenge. Congratulations to BigWaylon and ECNC with a score of 15 on a very difficult target! Smok3y has passed the target pick to the 2nd place guys and together, they will be posting a new target soon!

Ok, here’s the target @ECNC and I agreed on. A little bit of a Thanksgiving theme.

9B132C7C-7033-4FCB-9AA0-A86D7C910240.jpeg

You can print it from here: http://accurateshooter.net/Blog/turkeytarg1401.pdf
...and it will also be attached to this post.

Rules:
1. We’re going with 10 shots on this one
2. One shot at each of the three small targets
3. Seven shots at the turkey

Scoring:
1. The turkey scoring is posted, with each shot counting separate. If it breaks a line, higher point value counts.
2. The smaller targets will be 10-7-5.
3. Add it all up..Max score of 100.

Tie-breakers:
1. Total score of the three smaller targets
2. Number of 10s hit, even if it hits the line into a lower scoring area
3. Number of hits completely inside the 10s

Not that this will be an issue with this group, but there will be a bit of honor system on taking 7 shots at the big one. It’s possible you blow out the center of the bullseye.

Happy Hunting!

Well, I thought I would be able to shoot today. Only got 2 hours sleep, so not driving any place. Hopefully next day or so I will get out.

Yay!!! I made it to the range! Hopefully I will be able to get back out and shoot this target again without so much wind.

Rifle: Anschutz 64 BRS
Glass: T-36
Ammo: Eley Target
Front Rest: Caldwell Rock
Weather: 70 deg., Partly Cloudy
Wind: NE 15mph and gusting (normal OBX wind)

Well, that’s one way to start it off. :D

Based on the third tiebreaker...victory can still be achieved!!!! :D

I finally have a decent target............... And have the Anschutz 54 up and running..... almost............... I tried some different ammo, had some Winchester 40 gr Hi Velocity that is at least 35 years old now. The Anschutz seemed to like it, at least good enough for me to have a decent score anyway............

And those last 3 that are nines, were the last 3 rounds....> I think I lost my focus at that point.............

That happens way too often for me, especially when we have targets that take 15+ shots.

93 on the left, 97 or 94 on the right depending on how you score that lower left target.

I think on a less windy day I can get it up to 100. I'll probably take another crack at it before the end of November.

I’d lean towards a 7. Looks more like it just tore into the 10.

nice shooting!

Great to see new shooters, and doing a great job of shooting!

Two weeks ago, I purchased a Remington Target Master with a diopter rear aperture sight and globe front sight (I may have some of that terminology slightly incorrect). I've only shot the gun twice... and I have to say, it's a blast! I haven't figured out what ammo it likes to eat yet (although, I think I have an idea now), and I have not figured out how to adjust the sights--or technically, I just haven't played with the sight adjustments. I've been trying to shoot groups to see what ammo it likes first... then, I'll adjust for center hits.

With that being said, I wanted to participate in the Turkey Shoot. So, here are my targets:
Turkey Target - Score 65.jpg Turkey Target - Score 47.jpg Targetmaster at Bubbling Springs.jpg Target. 0.5 group..jpg

I have to admit that I got super lucky on the three small circle shots in Target #1. I could not even see the circles and was just shooting for a "region of the paper". I added blue tape to the circles for round #2, but changed the ammo and missed them entirely. I also shot these with my elbows on the table and did not use the rest seen in the picture.

I'll figure out how to adjust the rear sight down so I'm shooting bullseyes and shoot the Turkey Target again before this is done.

And, while I'm introducing myself, and my gun to this group, I figured I'd include a 5-shot group I shot at 25 yards. I think my gun like the Aguila Super Extra (blue striped box) 40g ammo. Really mad about that hit to the left. :)

If y'all have any advice, I'd be happy to hear it. Looking forward to seeing more targets!

^Shoot. Sorry my pictures are so big. I thought they would post as a quadrant of photos, instead of lining them up down the page. I'll have to figure out how to post them better.

They look perfectly fine to me

I’ve shot a a couple of these but never posted. Today I shot this months and last months. Here are the two targets I shot for this month.

I’ve been shooting wolf match target but I’m almost out so I started using the sk rifle match. Seemed like the more I shot it the better it did.

Cz455 20 inch rifle
gen 2 pst
Sk rifle match
50 yards

Btw you guys are good.

That's very good for not using a scope! Always great to have new shooters with us. Welcome to the group. I'm sure we would all like to see a picture of that rifle! :D

Here's my submission for review and I'll preface this by saying that I mysteriously forgot how to count today. Somehow I managed to put 11 shots on the target. Also, ignore my math on the score too. I was thinking that extra shot would have been a 9 instead of a 7.

I was rocking a great group on the center of the turkey and then started to shoot for the small targets. The shot on the upper right tore the "0" out of the "10" and the target backer obscured the tiny .17 cal hole. Scanning the target, I thought I had fired 9 shots and sent another downrange, which I promptly shanked and shot the wide 7.

So I'll submit this as a DQ target for all to mock and jeer. Still, it was nice to get out and participate again as my "fun" range days have been few and far between as of late.

Marlin 917V 17HMR
Hornady 17gr VMAX ammo
Front rest & rear bag

Back to school you go! Nice shooting though. I have done that so many times, so I really have no place to mock you.

20201017_175736.jpg 20201017_175717.jpg 20201017_134848.jpg I gave it a try this afternoon, not a winner, but had fun. I shot a 92 and an 88. There was a slight breeze, not sure if that was hurting me or if the bench was a little wobbly.
I shot the CZ 455 and tried some SK Standard and some Center X. SK was way off of the Center X, so I used the SK targets for practice.20201017_175736.jpg 20201017_175736.jpg 20201017_175717.jpg

Not sure what I did there, but I got doubles on my pictures!o_O
The one thing I think you did there is short yourself 9-10 points, or failed to shoot the number of shots at the turkey. No way you scored a 58 on the center section of the 88 target. Either there’s only 6 shots instead of 7, or you need to add another score.
