Make some movie recommendations. Not IMDB top 100 movies, as most reading this will probably have seen them all.

A bit more off the beaten path. But being off the beaten path is no excuse for a craptastic movie.

I'll kick it off with some suggestions:
Scanners
Battle Royale
Dead Alive
In the Company of Men (if the white knight in you is strong, you may not like this)
Vicky Christina Barcelona

Fear of a black hat
Jekyll and Hyde... together again

Two of my favorites from long ago.

Better off dead
John Cusak???? Dude, its in my top 5!

I'll say that Ive seen some stuff in the past year that were sort of B movies that were quite good.
-Green Room. Got the guy from Star Trek, white bald guy, cant think of his name. Others you'll recognize.
Punk band is touring, ends up at some neo-nazi bar and witness a murder

-Red Scare. Biggest name in it is John Goodman. Its about some religious zealots, cult. Directed by Kevin Smith of Jay and Silent Bob fame: Dogma, Clerks, Mallrats etc

-Youre Next. Horror movie, slasher-ish. People get killed, it was good.

I could go on and on about other, more popular movies that wouldnt be so 'top 100' etc, but I'll save that for later

I watched these today due to the frickn heat: THE PARK IS MINE, and TANK
But the one i cannot find is THE LORDS OF DISCLIPINE

The Accountant staring Ray Mckinnon

It's about an accountant that specializes in saving family farms from big banks.

Probably all craptastic by critical standards:

If you can take foreign film Rien a Declarer (French) was pretty funny. It may be in English as Nothing to Declare.
Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man
My Name is Nobody
Sean of the Dead (UK)
Second Hand Lions (family movie)
The Tale of Zatoichi (Japanese Kung fu theater fare)
Men of Honor

Bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia. (Warren Oates)
The Last Run. (George C. Scott)
Cold Comes the Night. (Bryan Cranston)
Sorcerer. (Roy Scheider)
The Train. (Burt Lancaster)

Red Cliff - Chinese epic, Great tactics beautifully shot movie.

The good, the bad, the weird - fun Chinese western

Wasabi - completely over the top action movie

Ip Man 1, 2, 3 - required viewing for any kung fu fans

You did say off the beaten path...

Ip Man 2 and 3 didn't do much for me, but I swear I have watched the first one a dozen times. The fight scenes are awesome and Donnie Yen is excellent at making one facial expression work for almost every emotion. Lol.

I have neglected to mention three largely forgotten espionage flicks:

Topaz. (Fredrick Stafford)
Scorpio. (Burt Lancaster)
The Mackintosh Man. (Paul Newman)

Some of these movies are not some obscure as they re just old. Good movies but just made many years ago.
