Like many folks I had my first experiences with archery during summer camp as a kid. I was in the Boy Scouts and spent a week during the summer at Camp Bonner in eastern NC for 3 years straight back in the early 70's. At most camps the most popular bows were the Ben Pearson fiberglass Jet series bows. I had not handled one of these bows in more than 45 years but a few months ago I purchased a pair of Jet Bows off ebay in 25lb draw weight for my older grand kids to use. I wanted the grand kids to get the opportunity to shoot these old camp bows and honestly I wanted them for the nostalgia too. After getting the bows I was very surprised by how well they shot. They may look like toys but these bows have proven to be very accurate shooters out to 20 yards and are a real blast to play with. I purchased some 1716 Easton Jazz arrows and they fly like darts from these bows. Being fiberglass they are almost indestructible too, so you don't have to worry about the kids beating them up. Well a few weeks ago I was looking around ebay again and ended up purchasing a Ben Person SuperJet model 335, 35lb draw weight for $40 and I put new string on the bow and took it out back to my home range a shoot around 75 arrows. Take it from an archer with a lot of experience with Traditional bows, I own 11 bows both recurves and longbows many of them customs; but I found this lowly old Ben Pearson fiberglass bow shoots remarkable well and after getting the bow setup and tunes it was grouping very tightly at 20 yards. They are very easy to shoot well and just a blast to play around with and would make a get survival bow or bow fishing bow. Most of all it reminds me of a simpler time in my life and brings back fond memories of youth. I like them so much I picked up another great condition Super Jet model 336 last week for $36 shipped:).
