We're gonna shake things up a bit at Old Fort MultiGun for our April 27th match!

2 Gun only with a carbine/rifle heavy focus. We've offered 2 or 3 Gun the last several matches, and 2 Gun has definitely been the more popular choice.

So, what does that mean?
- A bit more distance, most inside of 400 yards with a max of 600. I'll likely still run my 11.5" SBR!
- Positional Shooting! Vtac boards, barricades, improvised supports
- Probably a little less movement.
- Higher rifle round count. Exact round count TBD but plan on shooting...a lot!
- Less reset! More steel!

We'll run 3 Divisions:
- LPVO w/optics up to 4x
- DMR w/optics up to 8x
- Open - anything goes!

Bags, bipods, tripods, all the latest doo-dads are all good to go in every division. But, you must start your stage with all gear in hand and off the ground. No prepositioned tripods or bags!

I'm really looking forward to this one!

Side note: Have you seen the price of groceries? Unfortunately, the BBQ crew isn't going to make it to this one. BYO lunch.

******* ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT SHOOTING PAST 100 YARDS?! *******
Let me know! If we have a few folks that want to work up DOPE for the match, we'll arrange a pratice day to get your drop charts figured out.

In.... Now hopefully, I can get more couch potatoes out so I'm not last! These are my favorite matches with some of the best people in our community!

Dangā€¦.15 slots already filled.

I'm assuming you want to run an AR right? No prs bolt guns.
Run whatever you like!

BUT....the plan is for more DMR/SPR and less PRS in nature. There will be some amount of movement through a couple of the stages.

I've made 1 post about this match here and on the socials....we're over 1/2 way sold out already.

Here's a sample stage brief. This stage will have rifle targets from 100 to 600 yards, not necessarily known distances:

Stage 2 - Penalty Box
90 second par time
Shooter starts with rifle magazine inserted, bolt closed on EMPTY chamber.

Shooter may use bags/bipods on the bench, but may not sit. Build shooting position on the clock, bags/bipods must be in-hand at the start.
Butt must be in the air while shooting (10 second procedural for each shot take while sitting)

Engage 6 <color> steel with rifle, 1 impact each. If a target is missed, shooter must engage the <different color> 100 yard penalty target before going back to missed target.
Engage safety.

Finish with 3 impacts on pistol steel.

Example:
Shooter makes rifle hits at 100 and 200, misses at 300. Shooter must make a rifle hit on the penalty target before going back to 300.

Looks like I'll be able to make it

Signing up on payday.
Can we get a rough round count?

And is the second gun a pistol or shotgun?
Pistol.

No round count yet, but expect a LOT of rifle - 100-150 isnā€™t out of the question.

Weā€™re nearing sell out!

We are officially sold out, but there is a waitlist (hit the practiscore link to register for wait list!).

Stage have been sketched. It's gonna be a ton of fun!

I have a couple 'rule' changes in mind to really challenge the shooter's skill. Primarily...no sight pictures! Some of y'all take more time getting sight pictures and 'air gunning' a stage than you do actually shooting. The rule is going to be, "You're up...shooter ready? Beeeeeeppppp!" No opportunity to adjust parrallax, test your stance or walk through. Just get the brief and go.

I agree with making the time after brief short to keep things moving but NO time after brief to sort things out seems pretty unfair. The first couple of shooters up are at a huge disadvantage compared to the rest of the squad who gets ample time to do stage planning.

Fair point.

Lemme see what I can come up with that is fair while keeping the pace up.

Like Quote ReplyGood point, rotating the shooting order helps some, but the later shooters are always gonna have an advantage.

As usual, we have a bunch of folks whose wives have spoken and can no longer attend.

I've cleared the wait list and have 1 open slot. And the icing on the cake...it's on my and Frank's squad.

You *may* be told on the registration page that the match is full and there's a waitlist. I'm not sure why practiscore does that when I have a slot open. Anyway, sign up and let me know here or via PM. When the last slot is filled I'll update here.
