One of the risks with outside dogs and no fences

Use these. Just keep your kids away from them.

So sorry to hear about Kojak.

Had a German Shepherd that was horrendously terrified of thunderstorms (she was popped by an arc of lightning once) and she chewed through her fence to get into one of her houses once.
I agree. Our old Lab would do it to get out (she hated to be left alone), and our male Great Pyrenees has pulled up the bottom of our current fence trying to get to predators on the outside.
They bite onto the fence and pull towards themselves trying to make a hole. It is crazy, and tears up their mouth, but some dogs will do it.
My brother has a GSD female that tore up a chain link fence dog lot like that. I didn't believe it until I saw the fence.

A determined dog can do that kinda damage.

Two different attacks in this thread.

One happened in October (OP) and he broke it up. The second happened Monday night, resulting in his dog dying. There were no witnesses to the Monday night attack.

This is why I assume animal control said there was nothing they could do. Not only did no one witness it, but no one knows which animal(s) is responsible.

I got that part but in the op you said he broke up that attack and the owner claimed his dogs had not left his property all day. If he was an eye witness to the attack that resulted in the injuries in the photo then the owner of the other dogs should have been charged at that time and made to pay the vet bill. Or am I still not seeing the big picture?
